BONSAI TREE Bonsai is popularized by Japanese people as an art of growing ornamental, dwarf trees. Bonsai Plants is assumed to have the same life cycle of the normal size trees. Growing and taking care of Bonsais is one way to relieve stress and will develop as a good hobby. Can be a dcor to your home or office. In feng shui, bonsai trees is believe to bring a good luck. TAKING CARE OF BONSAI Each Bonsai Trees has a specific care procedure. Most common reason why bonsai tree dies is over watering. Keep in mind that you need to check your bonsai tree frequently. Watering, fertilizing and repotting your tree should always be in your mind. KEEPING BONSAI TREE IN SHAPE trimming a bonsai tree comes in two ways. First is maintenance-pruning, which means you need to maintain and refine the existing shape of a Bonsai. Second is structural-pruning, which requires more rigorous pruning or trimming to give a tree its basic shape or style. 9GreenBox Zen Reflections Bonsai will be delivered in an 7" glazed clay pot. Proudly Homegrown by 9GreenBox Zen Reflections Juniper Bonsai The Art of Bonsai Bonsai is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese word penzai, meaning tray planting. Bonsai are not a species but a general term for any plant tamed at a miniature size, in a vase or pot, and has been practiced for hundreds of years. People who keep bonsai favor the exercise for its meditative and calming effects. With years of training the trunk and leaves, the plant can be shaped into whatever the artist desires. Some bonsai live to be hundreds of years old, passed down through generations if they are properly maintained. Bonsai are not typical houseplants. Juniper trees are evergreen coniferous shrubs that thrive best outside in humid environments. Keeping a plant in a pot is vastly different from its natural state in the wild. For bonsai, plants are kept in small containers where their roots have very little space. These differences have a heavy impact on their ability to resist pests, transpiration, and nutrition, so proper long term care is necessary for a healthy life. Training Methods - Pruning and Trimming Cutting back the growth of branches, or parts of the trunk. This is what keeps the tree miniature. Leaves are typically removed by special scissors for bonsai, or any blade with a sharp edge. Do not trim the tree like a bush or a hedge, or the removal of the tips will weaken the tree and it will likely turn brown. Clamping and Wiring These instruments are for shaping the branches and trunk. By applying pressure on the plant, the direction of growth is encouraged to go a certain direction. Grafting and Aging Placing new growing material into the tree. Deadwood bonsai techniques are used to enhance texture and maturity.

Loss of the star because the lil fishermen accessorie was what I loved about this product description and tipped me over to ...
I think you are getting what you pay for here. The way they ship this could lead to lots of problems and broken trees, but mine was intact. I would give this a 5 star review, but the biggest issue, is that it doesn't come with a drop tray. Normally this wouldnt be a huge deal, but the pot is a very unique shape, so you cant really just go out and buy a matching tray. I have my tree and pot sitting on top of a plastic bag that I have tried to bunch up as well as I could so that it doesnt show too much. If the vendor has a tray that matches the pot, I would REALLY like one. The plastic bag kinda takes away from the refined look I was going for with a bonsai on my desk.

Is my tree dying upon arrival?
I didn't expect to get something exactly like the photo. I got a beautiful tree that has an interesting and excellent shape. The pond-pot is beautiful too. Darkish Blue in color and odd shape, sort of oval but has wrinkled wavy like edges. Very unique. Mine came well packed in Styrofoam Peanuts. it was sideways in box with enough around the tree to prevent it from moving or bouncing around while in transit. I gently pushed them away until i found the pot, firmly grabbed that and gently lifted it out of the box. and brushed any other peanuts off. Came in perfect condition. Pot was wrapped in plastic wrap up to the trunk of the tree. I carefully cut using small scissors and making small snips to make a path through the wrapping and gently cut around the trunk. Not hard to do. I just wanted to be careful so not to damage the tree. So there was little loose soil and no big mess to clean up. Very well done. Once unpacked I inserted the fisherman and his fishing pole, added some rain water for the pond. I then searched for a drip-humidity tray that would fit the pot and the space where i wanted to keep it, a window ledge. ended up with a perfect size tray (6x9) that did not stick out over the edge. allowed the pot to sit inside and still have some room for decorative stones. Very pleased with everything.

Needs a drop tray!
It arrived alive and well despite being shipped during the middle of winter and 30 degree weather. I was a bit concerned when I unwrapped the box to see how it was packaged. The base/pot and dirt were all taped up in plastic- which was somewhat annoying to remove, the plant came planted in the pot already, but the small branches and body of the plant were just laying out in a sea of packing peanuts. I thought we might be lucky that it did not end up squished or snapped in half, but then I don't ship plants so maybe idk. On to better things: there is a hole in the bottom of the pot for drainage, which is why I have placed it in a makeshift tray, the tree itself is nice and green and showing signs of new growth. Though it is a bit small to begin with, I suppose that leaves plenty of room for us to grow it out how we want and in whatever direction.

Excellent and Beautiful
Seems in good condition. Same pot and tree looks like the picture. Came needing to be trimmed which was exciting to me. Only issue was the fisherman had no pole or fish. A bit of a bummer tho maybe I'll find a little Lego guy to replace it. Only reason for the 4 and not 5 star. No bugs as far as I can tell. I'll be changing the soil and carefully cleaning the roots to fully replace all soil just incase. Please do your research on juniper bonsai as the fertilizer method for Coniferour trees Like the juniper are different from deciduous as well tropical trees. They prefer outdoor settings tho mine does well on my north facing window getting the majority of sun during the day. Sometimes I'll move it to my west window for the last few hours of light in the day if it's been overcast. I live in Puget sound, meaning lots of overcast days. As with all shipping of live plants, it runs the risk of damage. From what I can tell the company seems to replace the item if the unfortunate happens during shipment. It's a great gift and beginner Bonzai tree. Buy a Bonzai beginner care guide or do online research to better equip you with the knowledge you'll need moving forward.

Branches are a bit sparse
I bought 2 Bonsai from this company 1 died I asked for a refund or exchange they denied me stating that warranty lasted a month it was only a month and half later … the second one is doing fine. Because of their lack of accommodation over the first one that died. I refuse to buy anything from this company. I get better service from a bodega in the hood. They took my money and ran with no regard for the product or me. DON’T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY SUCK!

Great little Juniper. Would recommend and buy again!
My niece had one of these and she accidentally left it outside in the Arizona sun in the summer and killed it. I told her I would bring it back to health, but after caring for it for a few weeks it was obvious the thing was toast. So I bought her a replacement and gave it to her saying I revived it, she was impressed with my amazing plant raising skills! But really though it arrived fresh, green, moist soil, and tightly wrapped. Great gift!

Proceed with caution with this company 9greenbox
After reading many reviews I was very nervous which pot I would get and if the little fisherman would be inside or not. Thankfully I got him and the pot with the pond! I’ve had for about 4 months now and my tree is still alive. Delivery: Arrived within a few days of ordering. Packaged very nicely and there was no damage to the tree. Pot: Half pond/dirt. The dirt side has two holes, assuming for the water to pour out of. I’ve been thinking about filling the hole, I have to watch how much water I do or it falls out the bottom. For what’re reason the water absorbs the water daily, I don’t see it leaking. May be my office temperate but I find it strange how I fill the pond with water daily. (I get over it!) The soil and the Little Rock’s on top of the dirt are very annoying when I water the tree and they fall into the pond. Tree: Great condition, no complaints!

Plant arrived in great condition. Looks great.
For the price this is a steal!! It's absolutely beautiful. Packaging was perfect, not a single branch damaged. It came with a clay and ceramic figurine that holds a fishing pole that's included. The pond side is bigger than I expected. I love it. I gave mine as a gift and my mother in law loved it and thought I paid so much more than I did, so it's a perfect gift

Package safely and beautiful
Cute bonsai with a nice shape. But the little water feature is misleading. A simple insert separates the empty space from the dirt & plant. I filled it with water and it immediately leaked all over my desk. It isn’t contained. So it flowed out of the drain hole at the bottom of the container. Also - though very carefully and well packed in styrofoam filling, it arrived very dry. Not unsurprising since it was in a box for a couple of days. But it never recovered. I watered it regularly, but i think it was already dead. It slowly worsened and now it is visibly dead.

Beautiful, packaged perfectly...this is a must buy
My wife’s Christmas present. Came in sooner than expected and I was able to keep it alive to Christmas, so it’s a resilient little plant. Looks good out of the box. Comes assembled except for the carved gardening monk guy. You can put him anywhere. My wife informed me he should NOT be climbing the tree, tho.

“Water” well is not contained - won’t hold water
I got it today, earlier than expected. I read the reviews after purchasing and was a bit horrified. When I received it, it was so cute and little. It was green and healthy. A baby bonsai as I would say. I don’t think people realize it takes 5 years to grow a bonsai and a small bonsai is wonderful to have so you can watch it grow and nourish it to shape how you want it to. As far as the fisherman, I didn’t even know he was included and my bf thought he was the coolest little man. He wouldn’t even let me touch him LOL great gift. He also didn’t have his little fish hook but he was just as cute without it. Most likely got lost along the way here. Small and cute, it will grow to be just like the picture with constant love and care.

Great gift for a green thumb
I found that the water in the reflecting pond was sleeping through the porous ceramic divider and constantly wetting the root system. I took the water out and replaced it with bonsai soil that looks like small rocks. Now the entire surface looks like a Zen meditation garden. Frankly, it looks much better as the little man contemplates the tree instead of fishing for nonexistent fish.

Cute little baby bonsai
I’m very happy with my new miniature tree. The seller took care to wrap it well so that the tree arrived intact. I’m no botanist, but I’ve now had the tree for a week and it appears pretty healthy and happy. Also, it had enough foliage on it so that I could start shaping it the way I felt it should look. The pot is nice and the soil seems decent, but I’m planning to repot it with a higher akadama/pumice/lava ratio eventually.

Don't fill the pond
I was somewhat disappointed Wirth my Bonsai tree. It wasn't a full tree and I needed to replant it immediately. I will have to use wire to create a one trunk tree. I'm happy I received it in tact, but could have been a better more fuller tree.
