Item Specifics
About the item:

  • 【Temperature adjustment】 The 3rd gear temperature adjustment device is the maximum gear. Please do not adjust the temperature to more than the 3rd grid during use. The product has a protective device, if it is adjusted to more than 3 grids, it will stop heating.
  • 【Three Cutting Pens for Long-term Continuous Use】 Each brand's foam cutter can only be used 30-45 minutes at a time and then take a break, 2-3 times a day, which is limiting for many projects. So with two foam cutting pens you don't have to stop to wait for another cutter to cool down while working on your project, which saves much time.
  • 【Hotter & Smoother Cutting】 Genround's foam board cutter can reach 300°C/572°F soon, which beats most styrofoam cutting pens on the market that can only heat up to 200°C/400°F or less. With this high temperature, it cuts the styrofoam smooth and fast, seals the edges clean, and leaves no debris.
  • 【Widely Fit MOST Types of Foam】 This hot knife foam cutter can carve or cut through foams within 4 inch thick and 0.12 to 1 lb/ft3 density. Perfect for styrofoam, insulation foam, polyurethane foam, polyethylene foam, foam poster board, upholstery foam, PE foam, foam board, cushion foam, egg crate foam, KT board and so on. But not suitable for high density foam, memory foam, nylon fabric and sponge.
  • 【Extra Long Cord and Metal Stand Holder for Resting】 The power cord is 48 inch long, convenient for those projects away from the wall socket. Package also comes with a metal stand holder for resting the heated pen, so you don't have to worry about where to rest it when you want a break from your work. Also the handle is good thickness and non-slip, so you can get a full grip and won't get strain for large projects.
  • 【Adjustable temperature】 Different electric heating pen nibs need proper temperature to make it cut better. Our latest style electric heating pen can adjust the temperature. When the indicator light on the heating pen is flashing, you only need to lower the temperature to keep it on.

Cheaply made
I have been busy building a rock crawler course for our 1/24 scale RC crawlers, and this knife has been my goto cutter since I received it. It works great on 3/4" foam board. It's great for cutting, carving, making holes, etc. It heats up quick, but it does slow down a little on long cuts. You have to move the knife to a different spot to keep cutting at a fast pace, but that is to be expected. This might struggle a bit on and foam over 1-1/2" thick on long cuts, but I am sure it can cut anything as long as the knife is. It just may be a little slower than a traditional hot wire cutter. Would definitely buy again. Note: if you find your knife won't heat up, loosen the knurled nut at the base of the knife and push the knife in as you tighten the nut. I loosened one of mine to see if the tip is replaceable (doesn't seem to be) and it lost connection. After reseating the knife blade it works fine again. My point here - don't loosen the nut lol.

Awesome hot knife
I don’t usually review products but these hot foam cutters were so far superior to similar products I’ve owned I felt I needed to. Thing I preferred about this product over alternatives I have owned. The build is very sturdy, not at all flimsy. They GO VERY hot VERY fast. They have a power on light. The housing is square so not likely to roll. There are two of them for a very reasonable price. These leave a good sized channel through your foam so don’t plan on doing fine detail work with them. I have a wood burning hand piece with lots of tips for that. I actually feel I will have and use these for a long time...something I can’t say was true of other brands I’ve owned.

So much easier than using a razor to cut foam
I purchased the Genround Foam cutter to make a custom Pelican case insert using Kaizen foam. I am happy with the product's quality. I found using this foam cutter easier and more accurate than using a knife, particularly when attempted to cut a partial depth hole. The cutter works best when buildup of melted foam is cleaned off the wand often. The kit comes with one brass wire bush of less than the highest quality. Plastic builds up in the brush and you need to clean it out of the brush at some point. I found a paint brush comb work well, but bristles of the included brush started to fall out. I picked up a pack of three small brass wire brushes at Home Depot for less than $4. They should last for me through quite a few more projects, but you should consider the brushes an expendable. I used only one wand for my entire project and it showed no change in performance. I can't testify to the longevity of the product, but mine hasn't shown any sign of giving out so far.
