Super Shock

6 lb. Granules

6 Pack Value

HTH Pool Care Shock Advanced 6 PACK X 1lb (formerly known as HTH Super Shock Treatment) HTH Shock Advanced is the powerful 4-in-1 formula with Cal Hypo that kills and prevents bacteria and algae as well as reduces chlorine odor and irritation for crystal clear, healthy water. Traditional chlorine products contain cyanuric acid (CYA). When too much CYA builds up, it can cause overstabilization or chlorine lock and cloud your water. The fast-acting, fast-dissolving Cal Hypo formula in HTH Shock Advanced provides chlorination without adding extra CYA for a beautiful sparkle all season. This product is great for all pool types and won't fade your pool liner.

This fast-dissolving, convenient 4-in-1 formula kills bacteria and algae, reduces chlorine odor and irritation and quickly restores crystal clarity.

Multi-functional shock treatment for weekly use.

Use weekly to solve 90% of pool water problems within 24 hours.

Restores crystal clarity in 24 hours

For best results, use with HTH® 6-Way Test Strips to test and balance your swimming pool water twice weekly.

Follow the on-pack instructions according to your pool size to add HTH Shock Advanced directly to swimming pool water or skimmer. Make sure to use a clean, dry scoop.

For best results, apply HTH Shock Advanced as part of your weekly pool care routine to keep free available chlorine levels between 1 and 4 ppm

Seemed to work for about 6 weeks, until I covered the pool
I really cannot speak highly enough of this product. Checkout the pictures and you will notice a big difference in the before/after and you will not need me to tell you which is which . The water is invisible with this thing. First about my pool: • I am in Florida so it is warm nearly all year • Pool is about 13K gallons • I have a salt chlorine generator • I put this in the pool 10 moths ago and bought the recharge pack, but have not used it yet • People come over and literally compliment me on how clear my water is (weird, right?) PROS: • My pool is crystal clear, WAY better than before using it when it kept getting cloudy • I had a non-stop battle with mustard and green algae before and not a spot since adding this • I have not used algaecide or any other water treatment since adding this. I only add acid (rarely) to balance the pH. • The pool is quite near zero maintenance now (I clean the filter and add a little acid and salt now and then - nothing else) • I do not need a pool guy/girl now • I seriously do not even brush my pool walls anymore because there is nothing there to brush off, insane CONS: • If you have very blonde hair and you spend tons of time in the water, you might get a slight greenish hue to your hair when you first put it in (or if you buy one that is oversized for your pool) because the mineral level is high, BUT I have recommended it to two families with all very blonde kids and they use it and LOVE it. Their kids are not running around with green hair, so don't get the wrong idea. You might try buying a size down from what is recommended if this is a big concern for you. You can see in the photo, it made my pool filter very green so I was a little worried at first, but it really was not a problem. • If you care if your pool guy likes you, don;t buy this because you will end up firing him • If you love going in to your local pool store to buy chemicals, this will drastically reduce your time there so you might miss them The two families I recommend this to that I got feedback from, LOVE it as much as I do. I recommended it to several others, but have not gotten feedback. I am confident their feedback would be the same. It is impossible not to love this thing. In case you are wondering, I do not work for the seller/manufacturer and have no connection with them, but if they go public, I would love to buy stock in their company! In fact, I might like to sell their product, it is so good. If you are wondering why it is not in pool stores if it so good, the answer is simple, they make their money on selling chemicals. This would put them out of business. A smart pool guy would add one of these to every pool they service and their customer would friggin' love them! They could make more money by not having to buy any chemicals and be a hero to their customers. I hope everyone with a pool starts using this so that they keep making it! (selfish, I know). Seriously, I really do not work for them, I swear! Ok, I am done with the longest (by far) review I have ever written!

Copper Sulfate, Use it and Save $$
Just a few weeks ago, I began to get extremely frustrated over not being able to kill the algae in my inground 14,900 gallon pool. I tried everything people. Yellow out product would kill the algae, but it would return. The water was chlorine blocked, I have no clue what was going on. I decided to buy pool rx, I thought dang $62 it pricey, but I purchased anyway. I followed the instructions on the back of the package. Cleaned my filters and I inserted it in the pump basket. It took 2 days people and the algae was gone!! Water looks great, it’s actaully sparkling clean and balanced. I even took the water to be tested at Leslie’s pools because I could believe my results when I tested the water at home. People seriously pool rx works!! My pool is pebble tech, inground, 13 years old and has 14,900 gallons. I will purchase again. Even if I have to buy it once a year and the booster, it totally worth it.

Sparkling, clear, clean and balanced water!!!d
I cannot yet vouch for the longevity of this product, but the picture speaks for itself. This was after nine days of treatment with PoolRX. The pool had been green and cloudy for six months and had all sorts of chemical treatments to no avail.

Great product for continued pool maintenance
Had a reoccurring issue in FL after heavy rains. Local branch PaP pool store only suggestion was put a 20$ bottle of algae killer and 25$ worth of liquid chlorine in every time it happens. Bought this bottle and put the normal first dose in and a bag of shock, everything cleared right up. Algae does not come back if you do the monthly regiment and keep chlorine levels normal. It does foam, especially with a waterfall, but I actually like it because I can tell when I need to add more when I see less bubbles forming. Great value compared with how much I was spending at the chain stores to knock out the algae, this seems to keep it from coming back entirely. Have been using it for about 8 months now without any issues.

Great product for continued pool maintenance
I am in my first house with my very first pool, that I take care of so learning from trial and error and took a small vacation for about a week at the end of this summer and I guess I let the chlorine get to low(when tested showed little to no chlorine in the pool) and it was literally green and had dark green/black growing on the sides. I tried adding multiple(probably about 6) bags of shock at a time trying to kill what was growing and tried 3 different types of shock. I decided to try the whole bottle of HTH after trying the listed amount with little effect after reading a review with the persons pool in the same condition as mine and after using the whole bottle at once, very little foam occurred, and a couple of days later, my pool is clear and all the stuff that was extremely difficult to kill that was on the sides has almost completely died. I will be using this only as I tried using 2 entire bottles of In The Swim Super Pool Algaecide to no effect and with the HTH the pool was safe after an hour while after using just 6 oz of In The Swim Super Pool Algaecide made my pool toxic to anything living, I added the listed dose of In The Swim Super Pool Algaecide and then went to scrub the sides and when a bit of water touched my hand it actually burned. I prefer the stuff that will not kill me in the process, but the HTH does have a very strong smell so keep it away from your face and wear gloves when handling to be safe. Looking through my orders to locate the In The Swim Super Pool Algaecide that did not work, just this summer I purchased 48 bags of shock when I could have just used a bottle of this stuff and have been done and my pool would have not turned bright green and the sides black.

Foams A Little but WORKS ??
I hate not having a picture, but Ill try next time to add before and after. If you have a swimming pool, you spend a lot of money finding out what works and when area and sizes may vary, Algae its an always present threat. Two mayor times I had to use it. The first one it just start getting greenish and I look for a solution and after trying a couple of things I found this algae guard. It works over night. One thing the pictures does not shows is, on the side of the bottle has the fl. oz mark in lines to make it easy to know how much you need to add. It tells you to add 3 to 5 days and follow the directions, what works for me, once a week, when I change my chlorine tables on my fluting and system (3, 3 inches tables) I put one fl.oz. It does make a little foam, but very little and when you swim right away, the water feels a but soapy. But all that disappear in half day to a day. The second time, I left the house and my wife came back after a week and it was a swamp, so bad The Thing would be proud of it. My wife entered in a state of panic and throw a whole bottle at it before he call me. Then before I could asset the situation, she dump an other one. Why? because she could. And in half day start clearing, I do not recommend because obvious reasons, but also it takes time for the system to filtrates the water, so the water look milky for a while. But even then it did not make that much foam. The product it s great and for the price, you can not go wrong. For my 10,500 gallon pool, I use, one Algae bottle (last me 2 months) one RX Algaecide blue (Last 6 months, goes in the pump filter, around 50 bucks) And chlorine 3in tablets (one on each floater, one in the main filter line) and that's it, my pool stays clean and clear year around. I hope this long a.. review helps you out.Dont forget to subscribe, hahaha, JK...

Does have a chemical smell BUT did the job, very well
We had 2 weeks of rain and my pool was seriously green. I bought HTH and it arrived quickly and I used it without reading instructions, probably used too much or too little who knows? But it worked over night and was perfectly blue the next day! We live in Florida so we have hurricane season that lasts 6-months a year and it's important to keep on top of your chemicals to keep pools clean. Love this product and will buy it again. Really good stuff and I didn't have to drive to pool store.

Amazing Algae guard
This works! I shocked my pool, tested the chemicals and everything is at the correct levels. But my water was cloudy. I Vacummed it that stored up the algae more. I poured Leslie’s Enzyme liquid nothing. Finally I poured 5 oz to 11,000 gallon pool. Next day which is today I looked and holy hell!!! It’s crystal clear. When I poured it yesterday it foamed just a little but it’s gone no foam. I’m a woman who refuses to hire a pool cleaner. I e gotten this pool from dark green, to high Cyuranic levels, to murky water. It’s a pain in the a$$. But you can do it ladies. Clean vacuum back wash shock and walla!

Works Fast and Really Well!
I have a 15,500 gallon pool in the Sierra foothills surrounded by oak and pine trees. In spring the pollen, little oak tassels that break up into billions of tiny seeds, pine needles, and organic matter fall into the pool. The pool sweep works hard so I change out the bag multiple times per day and clean the filters daily along with slamming the pool with chlorine and brushing down the sides. The pool turns green so I use an algicide to clear the water. In the past, the algicides I used had copper causing problems with balancing the pool chemistry. This year the pool would not clear so I ordered this product, no copper. The label reads to add 6 oz. if you see algae. My pool was swamp green so I added 12 oz. When I got up in the morning the pool was mostly clear! After 24 hours from the first dose I added 6 oz. again. The following morning the pool was crystal clear. During this time I swept the pool sides daily and cleaned the filters. Since then I add 1 1/2 oz. every 5 days and the pool sparkles, no algae. Great product, order it.

Get it!
I forgot we used this last spring after opening the pool again.. I buy my tablets and shock from Costco..but we unfortunately don't sell this product..and it is key to getting your pool right for the season and also to keep it right throughout the swimming season here in Central florida. The pictures I have added are before, during and after ..Florida. & 72 hours apart, and as the directions recommended do this atleast 24 hours and start with a low 2 to 4 ounces after shocking, cleaning filter & making sure chlorine tablets are still there . .it WILL SUD , which I like cause it lets me know its working..there is also a smell... for those who are sensitive, add this last and walk away !!! we run alternate pumps and then quick clean to make sure it mixes well .you may need to run through these steps again with a good brush up again after you can see clearly to the bottom .. no regrets here . ??♂️??♀️

It's the 3rd thing you need !!
I should have taken a before picture. For the past few months I've had yellow mustard algae growing in my year old pool (I'm new to pool maintenance). It was white so it was pretty noticeable but I didn't really know what it was. I put 6 oz in my 10,000 gal fiberglass salt water pool for the initial treatment since I already had a light coat of yellow algae over the entire pool. 24 hours later and it looks great! I will definitely be using it for maintenance 1 oz a couple of times a week.

Wow this product really worked
My pool was yucky. Green algae grew like crazy after a wind storm blew dirt and debris into my pool. One dose and I could see the bottom of my pool again. It took a few days to filter all debris through my sand filter and pool vac, but it is the best. Wouldn’t buy anything else. It’s worth the price.

Great value
I've battled yellow mustard algae for 18 years. Yellow Out is expensive and you have to run the equipment over night (twice I think) and boom, back comes the yellow on the walls and pool floor. I used the recommended start up amount of HTH 67032 Super Algae Guard and let the pool run an extra three hours to distribute the algaecide. Came out the next days and exclaimed, "Hey, I didn't know my pool was blue!" It's been crystal clear for two weeks now. I'm ordering more to have on hand for the maintenance level dosage. I am really happy with this product.

The best ever
I had been fighting the algae problem literally all year. I followed the instructions and added the recommended amount of algaecide - no effect. I doubled the amount. No effect. Finally I bought and poured in an entire bottle of this. It worked. No more green. Just add the whole bottle at beginning of season. Don't waste your time with an add-a-little, see-if-it-works hesitant approach.

Full on works
Order at least 3 for the season. There is nothing worse than needing it in August and the store is sold out and having to wait a week to order it. Use the maintenance dose on the bottle throughout the hot and dry part of the summer toward the end of July and all of August. If not when the yellow agae shows up, it's too late. It's going to take a whole bottle, maybe 2 to get it under control. And your going to have to do alot of scrubbing on the sides.

This worked. Nothing else did.
We have been using a Pinch-a-Penny Product called All-in-One for 25 years. Due to currently the P-a-P product going up to $38.00 we decided to try this based on cost alone. This stuff is working great. Doubt i will ever go back to P-a-P product again. Added 5 oz the first tIme and 2 oz every 4-5 days since. Pool has remained clear with no evidence of a problem.

It works on yellow agae.
This stuff is officially my go to algeacide for my pool! One bottle and you have crystal clear water with one after effect, bubbles. My pool has a waterfall from the jacuzzi that flows into the pool and after pouring this solution in it creates bubbles, FOR A WEEK! We're going to wait for the bubbles to dissipate before we swim in it. Smells good too.

Great Results! Crystal Clear Water.
I ordered several bottles of this HTH Super Algae for our pool. This Summer has been a bad one for green algae. In the 25 years we've lived here, I never had algae after one treatment. This year though, the light green stuff just kept coming back. I'm sure it had to so with the inferno heat in SC. So, I brush the pool walls and put this HTH stuff in the water. The pool is 20,000 gallons so I used double the normal amount. The product does kill the algae. I had it return but in much smaller amounts.

Bubbles? Yes! Algae? No!
Best thing about this product is that for those living in the country, it kills the Hell out of annoying biting horseflies. Worth it for that alone. Something to note is that each line on the side of the container is 2 ounces. The first time I used it, I mistakenly doubled the dose required that the lines were 1oz. Still it worked great to kill green algae in my pool after a week of rain. Now, I put 2-4 oz a week in any time after it rains and the pool has been clear. No idea what people are talking about with the foaming. I haven't experienced that. Will def buy again.
