MIRACLE IN A BOTTLE
I have every skin issue you can think of. Rosacea, acne (hormonal, cycstic, Whiteheads, blackheads), dehydration, excessive oiliness, redness, all of it. I’ve spent probably thousands on a multitude of different products, trying to find one that would at least make a dent. I’ve had many procedures, many trips to the dermatologist. Nothing I’ve ever used, nothing I’ve ever done, has made such a profound difference in the appearance of my skin. Having rosacea, my face often felt hot, bumpy, and burned. While my conplexion is naturally fair and pink, this has seriously covered all my bases in a gentle and effective way. I’ve been trying to turn my skin around for YEARS!! this was the product that did it. If I could give it 100 stars i would. It has seriously changed my life!!! Also sorry for the nasty pictures haha

Devils Liquid
My skin type: - Very Dry, easily dehydrated - Oily nose - Prone to stubborn acne and closed comedones - Redness on chin and cheeks (not rosacea) I already use a nightly Tretinoin cream (.04% concentration) to help with my acne and premature signs of aging but decided with my derm that incorporating a BHA would be a good idea to help with my seriously stubborn closed comedones and some irritating textural issues. It was between this and the Cerave SA lotion and I ultimately decided on this due to the higher concentration of salicylic acid. It's moisturizing, and feels sticky for the first 5-10 minutes after application but seems to sinks in to something of a satin finish on me and I can no longer feel it on my skin. You just have to be a little patient. My skin feels well hydrated and plump after it settles and looks really smooth and my pores aren't as obvious. It sits just fine under makeup for me but I'm not a new user to chemical exfoliants so I don't have lots of dead skin pilling up or sloughing off when I use it, my skin is, for the most part, already very smooth outside the acne and CCs. Occasionally I'll apply it further down my neck/decolletage than usual and WOW do I old skin just ball up and peel right away - it's so gross but also satisfying. So those that don't exfoliate often or are new to BHA/AHAs will likely have issues with foundation until their skin adjusts (but it will adjust). My advice in those cases is to either use this at night for the first few weeks or just accept going barefaced for a little while if you can. I'd strongly suggest not applying this product over anything that you feel does not dry down fully, the times I've attempted to use it after serums or heavier products it takes forever to sink in and sometimes never fully does. I save all my serums and essences for after this has absorbed and it's far easier to work with it as a result. My steps go like this most days: ACWell Licorice toner --- PC 2% BHA --- 10% Niacinamide serum --- TO Matryxil serum --- Secret Key Black Snail cream or Syn-ake cream w/ 3 drops Stratia Fortify oil --- Sunscreen. It works fairly quickly IMO, on my neck where I typically don't apply my Tret at night I noticed the peeling and balling of dead skin on day one and on my face where I have a patch of really awful CCs I noticed them getting smaller and smoother by around day 3-4. I'm going on about 8 days now and they're barely visible unless I'm right up in the mirror and feel as if they're almost gone when I touch my fingers to that area. I do have some slight peeling of the skin around my mouth and nose but it's not terrible (likely because I already exfoliate the heck out of my skin with the tret). Some tips and things keep in mind: 1) DO NOT RINSE IT OFF. I don't understand some of the top reviews advising people to do that, it says on the bottle not to rinse and nearly all chemical exfoliators are meant to be left on until the next cleansing specifically so they can do their job. If you rinse it off you're either going to prevent it from properly exfoliating or end up irritating the hell out of your skin. If you have oily skin and feel this might be heavy on you than you can probably just use this on bare skin and then sunscreen if you use in the AM or a lightweight lotion/cream and be done with it, but you need to leave it on your skin. 2) You have got to use sunscreen while you're using this product! Any BHA or AHA exfoliant causes increased sun sensitivity and you have to address that in your routine. You should already use sunscreen daily but it becomes a must when you incorporate a chemical exfoliator or you risk sun damage. 3) Less is more! Don't slop this on your face or soak a cotton pad in it, a little goes a long way and you'll be kicking yourself if you apply way too much and have to wait 20+ minutes for it to sink in. Use a shake or two and add more if needed but go easy. 4) Expect some irritation initially. Chemical exfoliants can be harsh and rough even on sturdy skin and you have to give yourself time to adjust. Over-exfoliation is a possibility but sometimes just introducing a BHA or AHA into your routine can cause some sensitivity. Don't panic and just be gentle to your skin. Use ceramides (like Cerave Skin Renewing cream) or fatty oils to soothe your face if needed and try to stay away from any harsh products or acids like Vitamin C right after applying this to avoid really burning your face.

MIRACLE IN A BOTTLE
This stuff should be called a miracle in a bottle. When I use it on my (pretty dry) skin, it transforms it from congested, irritated, and bright red to calm, clear, and glowing overnight. Most of the people reviewing this are using it incorrectly. It's an acid exfoliator. That means you should use it once a week, twice at the most (if your skin is oily and needs a lot of work.) It is not supposed to soak into your skin. You should keep feeling that greasy sensation until you wash it off. Also, it should never be used during the daytime. BHA, or salicylic acid, interacts terribly with the sun. If you absolutely must put it on in the morning, follow it up with heavy SPF, but I wouldn't do it. This stuff is like anything else- it only works if you know how to do it properly.

If you actually understand how to use it, it's amazing.
There’s a lot of misinformation in other reviews about this product. This is a chemical exfoliant, so there is no need for additional chemical or physical exfoliants in your regimen unless you know your skin can handle it. Also, this product may cause your skin to purge. I have been using this product for 2 weeks and my skin is in the purge process. Yes, I have a few breakouts right now but I can already see improvement in enlarged pores, fine lines, and I’m able to extract black heads very easily (I use an extractor, never fingers!) It is normal for skin to purge on chemical exfoliants, and means that your skin is reacting positively to the ingredients. Do your research about BHA’s prior to starting this product! It’s not a toner or a cleanser either, and can cause your skin to react badly if you get too much sun exposure without SPF. Further, the bottle states to use twice daily. I wouldn’t suggest that, start every other day or once day and increase as needed. It takes at least 30+ days for people to see results with most skincare, so don’t write this product off if you start breaking out. I fully recommend this! I am in my late 20’s, have combo and acne prone skin.

interacts terribly with the sun
Was skeptical because if didn’t have a seal on. Used it once at bed time and started noticing results after 2 weeks of use. Still using it every night and forehead is clear.

Now I love it and am about to order my 3rd jar
I received my first jar as a gift and didn't get what all the buzz was about until I did my research and learned how to use it. Now I love it and am about to order my 3rd jar. I think the negative reviews are because most people, like me, try to use it as a stand alone moisturizer. I learned that it is a humectant and and works well applied a WET skin to lock in moisture. Let it dry, then use whatever serums and moisturizers you prefer for day or night. Try it this way and I think you'll be pleased with the results.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost is nothing short of miraculous. I've never been more pleased with a facial moisturizer. I got it yesterday and used it right away. I was impressed with how smoothly it went on and was completely invisible. Even better, my skin didn't feel tight or coated. Then the miracle: A couple of hours later, I looked in the mirror, and surprise, no dry, flakey skin. I assumed it just hadn't had time to get back to its dry condition, but this morning it still looks as smooth as it does in the summertime. This is the first time I've used a Neutrogena product, but it certainly won't be the last.

Expect hydration!!! Perfect for oily skin and dry skin
The only product I've actually stuck with and was using everyday for dry skin. Well low and behold about 4 werks later I noticed my under eye wrinkles and puffiness was much less noticeable.

Like Magic
I love this cream/gel. I have sensitive combination skin, and have found that this works perfectly as a night moisturizer. The Hyaluronic acid is PERFECT for combo skin or sensitive skin! It really leaves the skin feeling silky soft, I just wish the container actually contained more product as I run through it very quickly.

It works!!!
I have tried many creams over the years. I am 70 now ... It is the BEST ... also, if you have some "crepey" skin it gets rid of it temporarily. The moisture just absorbs into the skin quickly.

great drugstore moisturizer
I really like this stuff. Let it absorb / dry and then continue with your normal routine. It's not greasy, which is why I would stop using other face creams. I use this during the day and an oilier product at night. At 57, I realize that some oil is necessary. I have really sensitive skin, especially as I grow older, but this stuff has caused zero issues. I've been using this for over 2 months. It's totally subjective, but I think it's helpful for very fine lines and some crepiness (sp?). I would never expect a face cream to do anything amazing - that's not realistic. This does as much as I would hope.

It is the BEST..
This is actually some good stuff. I found this little gem after one of those “beauty influencers” recommended it for us commoners instead of the super expensive brand ones. (Cause ya know. We like to eat & need to pay bills) ... this moisturizer really does work. I have dryer skin than the “normal” and of course it’s “sensitive” cause that’s in right now too, but when it’s extra dry from the 0 degree temps outside I slap more of this stuff on my face and lightly push it into my skin and hope for the best; and it usually works. If you’re looking for something that fights the good fight against wrinkles, this isn’t it. That’s Botox. So, Basically: it’s a good one for you to put moisture on your face. It’s “drug store”. You can get it easily anywhere. It’s affordable for the commoners. You get bang for your buck.

Very Nice Stuff
I have always had easily irritated, sensitive skin. Allergies make everything worse, and so does a diet previously based on fast food. Now diabetic, I noticed my skin becoming reddened, dry, rough in spots with flaking. I've used Neutrogena Rainbath gel for it's moisturizing and gentle cleansing, but needed something else for my face. I found this. Absolutely love it. It's not just for what it says it is - the hydrophilic hyaluronic acid that absorbs up to 1000x its weight. It's what it does. It's the way my skin feels after I put it on. I wash, blot but leave a touch of water on my face, then take a little on my finger - let it mix with that residual moisture. All over my face, eyelids (close them tight) and neck. I know I did it right when I get that enjoyable tingle - and an indescribable feeling that my skin feels pleasantly tighter - supple - like it's refreshed and awake. Like it's been given a healing balm. I use it nightly. Within a couple of days the difference was visible. That redness and flaking was gone. My face and neck felt - healthy. Good. I could see and feel the difference. It is a mix of gel and cream. Spreads easily. Absorbs quickly. No mess. No problem. In the jar it has a slightly bluish cast but a translucent white on my finger. For those interested in packaging it comes in a small box, with a plastic ring holding it securely within. No oil. No fragrance which is lasting or that I've noticed. No dyes. Nothing that would block the pores of my skin. I've gone through at least 5 jars. And will keep going. It does change the way my skin looks and feels. It's noticeable. To me. And when it's you using Neutrogena Hydroboost for extra dry skin, you are the only one who matters. How you feel. I can't recommend this more highly.

Just try it....
I've tried both versions and for anybody debating between the two do yourself a favor and get the gel-cream! Due to having combination skin any kind of lotion or cream based moisturizers break me out, however the consistency of the gel-cream was more gel than cream and it did not leave a tacky feeling nor break me out. Also the water gel contains fragrance so for SENSITIVE SKIN users beware, whereas the gel-cream is fragrance free. If you smell your container and it smells of chlorine, I can guarantee that you have the water gel version, not only does it smell extremely strong I find that it leaves a weird film on my skin. As for performance, the gel-cream performs like a safe, affordable moisturizer. Now for the water gel, by the end of the week my skin was peeling all over, defeating its purpose to keep my skin supple and moisturized. Water gel - contains a strong fragrance - dries out skin - might cause burning (if extremely sensitive) - left a weird waxy feeling on skin Water gel-cream - fragrance free - did not break me out - moisturizes - sinks into skin and no weird feeling

Now I love it and am about to order my 3rd jar
It's great at what it says it does! I'm not looking for a miracle cream. I prefer products that are very good at what they do. This neutrogena cream is lightweight and feels moisturizing, and I use it as a final layer after my skincare routine in the evenings. It is light and gel-like so it absorbs easily. It also leaves me face just a bit tacky feeling. I prefer the extra dry skin version because it contains hyaluronic acid while the other version doesn't, as far as I know. Hyaluronic acid is great for people with oily skin as well. Even if you're an oily skin type, your skin could be dehydrated and hyaluronic acid will help because it absorbs moisture. It can hold 1000x its weight in water! Some cons are that the actual amount of hyaluronic acid (one of the things this product brags about) is fairly low and is almost at the end of the ingredients list. It also has dimethicone as the second ingredient, so those who break out from silicones should be wary. The dimethicone helps it do its job as an occulusive layer though. It's not as heavy as other creams, but where I live, I don't have a need for heavy creams. This is a great final layer for skincare in the daytime or nighttime if you don't find yourself needing a richer moisturizer. I've tried it directly under makeup, and it just doesnt work for my skin. My foundation separates and I look rather greasy by 4 hours...and I am not an oily person. I have very dry skin so that was interesting. I've tried it also under a primer and then foundation, but it doesn't work either. However, that's just my personal experience. My friend who also uses this swears by it. It does leave your face a bit tacky and does have a large amount of silicone so I do believe it can work as a primer for some people. However, this isn't a deal breaker. This is my second repurchase and I'm happy that it does what it states to do well. Tip: I also like to incorporate oils into my nighttime routine. The oils I use absorb so much faster into my skin when I add a few drops to this moisturizer and then pat it in gently. :)

Great and what it says it does!
I have been trying so many moisturizers for years. I must have spent hundreds trying to find that one spring to summer skincare product that doesn't make me look like an oil slick, leave a white cast, or break me out. I think this one might just be the holy grail product I've needed. Sometimes you can't trust Allure or other beauty websites because you know they're getting paid to promote it. I can honestly say this is a dupe for Tatcha Water Cream. The -only- issue is that for the price point it does have silicone in it as a "filler". I'm not sensitive to it but I am sensitive to mineral oils and heavier creams. So if that is an issue I would be careful before buying. I'm one of those fair skinned gals who seems to break out if I so much as turn my head towards the wind wrong and I haven't had a single breakout with this moisturizer. It layers nicely as well with my spf and foundation (I use Nars or Armani), as well as dries quickly so you don't have to sit there fanning yourself for ten minutes before you apply your foundation. All in all, I will stay with this ridiculously highly rated moisturizer all spring and summer long.

Product is Excellent, Packaging is Excessive
This is the most amazing moisturizer I have ever used. I have an oily T-Zone, and have always had a hard time with moisturizers feeling greasy on my skin. This one is so light but so effective. A tiny little bit covers your entire face, and it feels like you have nothing on your face at all. You're left with your skin feeling soft and smooth. When I tell people that I'm going to turn 53, they never believe me. They say I look 35. Thank God for this product!

Still not sure? Take the leap!
I've been using this for the past few weeks and I must say: I love this gel-cream. It says for extra dry skin and trust when I say I have extra dry skin, especially during the winter. Suffice it to say that my whole face, pretty much, gets dry and crusty, especially the forehead and chin areas. My skin gets so dry that in some parts, particularly the corners of my nose, that it peels, itches, and burns; ever since I started using this gel-cream I've noticed a huge difference, even from the first time I used it. It keeps my face soft and moisturized the entire day. It even takes away the shine my forehead tends to get after I wash it. Every. Time. It's also very gentle on my sensitive skin; not one breakout from using it. I highly recommend it.

Lightweight, non-greasy, and oh so effective!
I've been hearing people singing the praise of hyaluronic acid lately and decided to try it. I get dry skin, especially around my nose. After using this product for just a few days, I can see a marked difference. I don't have flakiness around my nose or in between my eyes anymore and my skin feels amazingly soft. I like the gel feel of the "cream" and it smooths nicely into my skin with a hydrating, non-greasy feel. My evening routine is: 1). Remove makeup with wipes 2a). Face Scrub every few days. No set schedule, just when it feels right. St Ives, but be VERY gentle. 2b). Wash face - I use a Neutrogena wash (and wipes), too. I'm not a paid shill, it's just a brand I've used for years and have had great results with. 3). Toner - witch hazel. 4). Moisturize with this product. 5). Hydrating Spray. Actually a rose/cucumber drugstore brand I picked up on a whim. Day Routine: 1). Splash face with water 2). If I am wearing makeup, I'll put this moisturizer on first. I am very impressed with how well this moisturizer works for me. I'll try to remember to update in the winter when the dry air really stresses my face out.

I LOVE this moisturizer!
I have really dry skin and lotions and creams don't work for me, they clog my pores and it just feels gross. My cousin let me try some of her Clinique Moisture Surge gel cream and I really liked, so searched for more affordable alternatives. I came across this one and decided to try it out, it was $16 which is cheaper than Target, $20. It's not as good as the Clinique but I think it's pretty close, there are 1.7 oz per jar for both, the Neutrogena would be about $9.50/oz (@ $16) and the Clinique is about $23/oz (@ $39).

Love!
I got this on a whim but it might make it into my regular rotation, at least in the winter. I'm on the oilier side, but my skin can get a little dehydrated from environmental factors; plenty of oil, just not enough water when the weather is cold and the heaters are on. I went for the gel-cream over the gel despite it being marketed for very dry skin, just because I really didn't want any fragrance if I could avoid it. This gives me just enough extra hydration without leaving me feeling greasy or looking shiny. The texture is surprisingly rich and silky given how lightweight it is. My only real gripe is the jar packaging. Most of my preferred products are in pumps, and dipping into a jar just feels unsanitary to me, especially since a spatula isn't included (although I'll admit the jar is relatively aesthetically pleasing, as far as mainstream drugstore products go). Overall a good product at a great pricepoint, in packaging that could be better.

Love
I have super acne-prone skin and most moisturizers (even those that claim to help with acne) cause breakouts, unfortunately I also have incredibly dry skin that can get flaky so not using moisturizer is not an option. I've been trying a bunch of different products trying to find makeup, lotion, face wash, and other things that don't cause breakouts or make my face dry, and it has been a wholeass STRUGGLE. I stumbled across this during one of my desparate google searches looking for the best products for my skin type, and I ordered it honestly not expecting much. I saw the results within the first few days. My skin not only felt softer, but you could visibly see the difference. It hasn't caused any acne breakouts, it doesnt clog my pores either, and I've never found a moisturizer that left my skin feeling this hydrated. I've used it for a little over half a year now, and the times where I've had to go a few days before I was able to repurchase I've realized just how dry and awful my skin feels without it. I highly recommend this to anyone with any skin type.
