The headphones and voice quality is good.

The sound quality is good. The great mode is that tone adjustment can be done. So that pitch can't be high or low. The headphones are really very good.

My husband cried!!

Update. My mom in law was able to go to her home and within 24 hours she asked if i could order her a set for her home. Could have offered the set we had but as an old vet i was getting to like to hear TV on set we had. That was Mom's problem also, Thst is why i ordered a seconf det for heren to ude st her home and i gave a set for me. In past, even with my hearing loss the volume my mom-in-law needed to hear TV when visiting was unbearable. That is why I purchased this product. Now both of us are very happy. TV is at reasonable level and mom can enjoy watching her shows. A real bargain in my book.

Mom doesn't want to admit it, but she's getting a little hard of hearing. Her nightly relaxation in front of The Lawrence Welk show was an overwhelming display of the amount of sound an old cabinet-style tube television can produce. While I was impressed by the low distortion her old TV produces at such high sound-pressure levels, "Polka Weekend" left me with lingering ear-pain. Something had to be done. Mom is very happy with her TV ears. She says she "barely has to turn them up" to hear the TV perfectly. The model I purchased for her requires that your television have "RCA Style" audio output. Note that the base sends the audio signal to the earphones using infrared light. This means that if you leave the room - or someone stands in front of you - the sound will be cut off. That said, we are impressed with the earphones ability to operate from anywhere in the room without any fuss. The only negative comment Mom has about the earphones is that the volume control is "too sensitive." Other than that, she loves them - and the rest of us can visit her without getting a headache!

A WORTHWHILE INVESTMENT

Works as stated! My mother is 87 and has a 60% hearing loss. She has the latest in hearing aids, but when it comes to watching tv in bed, she had given up on this till TV Ears! Easy setup. Note: make sure you connect to the audio "out" either on the tv or cable box. Sound on the tv is now on mute rather than 100..lol.

this is my second go around with TV ears. I owned the original ones from years back. The 5.0 is a good upgrade. I have read all the criticisms (which actually made me hesitate to buy this.) I can't agree with any of them. This is definitely worth buying. And it's worth the upgrade. Also worth avoiding the hassle of trying to replace batteries.. For what you get, it's a good price and product. MAYBE the Sennheiser sound is a little better. It's TV. Do we care that much? Don't hesitate if this is the kind of product you need

So unobtrusive that the person that I got it for forgets is even wearing it. Clear sound. Good range. Like that it uses infrared light so it doesn't interfere with wireless devices, no lag I can hear it ( before being worn ) simultaneously with the tv speaker. Only wish it had a separate on off switch instead of a dial does double duty controlling volume and off when fully turned in the lowering volume direction, good point it has an audible click for feedback that it has been turned off.

As my wife and I have aged, we both have lost a significant degree of hearing. Much of the narrative on TV, as well as conversations between us and others, has been difficult to understand. We have tried hearing aids and amplifiers, but they amplify ambient noise as well. TV ears avoids that problem, and just amplifies the audio from the set. We would recommend this product to anyone wanting the best TV sound despite being hard of hearing.

THIS PRODUCT PERFORMS EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED

The TV ears were easy to set up and worked after getting an overnight charge on the battery. Easy to follow instructions and the clarity of sound is excellent in all sound ranges, volume and tone adjustments worked as advertised. My wife is hard of hearing and wears a hearing aid most of the time. She had trouble hearing low voices on tv before the TV Ears and now can hear full range of sound even without her hearing aids on. Most importantly, we are no longer bickering of the volume controls and has made my life easier as a result! I will probably order a headset for myself to watch late night tv without disturbing her. Would highly recommend to friends and family. Arrived on time and in easy to open packaging.

The Volume Control Must be Clicked OFF Before Charging!!!

I got this for my mom whose only pleasure is watching tv. She has severe hearing loss & ringing in 1 ear and had to listen with the volume on 20 or above to hear her programs! The first time she put it on she kept saying wow over and over! It has changed all of our lives for the better. She can hear her programs clearly without blaring the tv. In fact, we cannot hear the tv. She also says she does not hear the ringing in her ear while wearing the headset. Set up was very simple. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who has a hard time hearing the tv or lives with someone who blows them out of the house trying to hear the tv. My only complaint is that there is only 6 hours of battery before they have to be charged. However my mom puts the ears on the charger when she goes to do other things like cook or bathe and she has never run out of battery despite watching tv for more than 6 hours daily.

No more fighting for the volume controls!

These were recommended for my husband by two of his siblings who also have them. I can't tell you how much of a difference this makes when he's watching tv, and he actually got a little teary when he said "I can hear the water dripping in this scene, and the people talking clearly!" The actual tv can be down to mute and he can adjust his own volume with the headset, leaving the rest of us without the loud tv blaring. I love it! I was not paying attention when I ordered them though, there is a different model for analog and digital tvs, and ordered analog, but the base plugs into the back of the tv just fine (and the analog is cheaper!). One "problem" with him wearing them is that then you can't have a conversation with him because he can't hear that someone's talking to him, but I'll take that! We've only had them for a few days so I can't really comment on battery life yet, plus he pretty much only uses them in the evening so they're plugged into the charger base all day. Durability looks like it should be pretty good...time will tell!

Life Changing

the are great buy them you will be very pleased and the will last so long you may nee a set of Rechargeable batteries in a year or so you can get them on line for $5.XX a set buy the ones that are welded together at the back. also consider buying the set of 2. I have to buy a extra single because someone else in the house likes them too much. The original power port can accept 2 sets.

Wow!

These TV Ears saved us! My 90 year old mother-in-law is virtually deaf and always had to listen to the TV at 100 decibels. She could not control hearing aids herself. These did the trick! Easy manual controls that she could could physically handle. Easy for her to remember how to operate them. We bought 2 so we’d have a backup if the charge ended in the middle of a show.

Works very well this is my second set bought this use or probably mild cosmetic defect it was a big discount from brand new I have no problems with it... The first one I had quite a couple years I think the battery is worn so it wouldn't charge and the battery cost a little less than this second one I got so it was better to get another set as I say works well no problem will recommend.

Perfect for my 90 year old mother-in-law! You will not be disappointed!

These were for a lady who is 101 years old and very hard of hearing. They work very well and she's able to enjoy her television shows. I've found they don't last a long time though, and have had to replace sets after about a year as they just don't work as well. I may be doing something wrong, but it's just been easier to get a new pair.

Good wireless headphone

You have to be facing the TV as it's totally directional. If you turn away you lose the sound, or if you go to another room you lose the sound. The last set I had, finally quit working, and their new model didn't work on our TV, but I could walk all over the house and still hear my program. This one produces great sound quality, but don't move around so the device doesn't face the TV. If you accidentally cover it with your hand you lose sound. That's my only complaint.
