As Close to Old "Drixoral Cold and Sinus" as You Can Get
For those, like me, for whom Drixoral was the perfect allergy relief, these pills are the bees knees. Drixoral was 6 mg of dexbrompheniramine and 120 mg of pseudoephedrine in a 12 hour time release. It was discontinued in the USA almost ten years ago and became unavailable through Canada and Turkey at later dates. Dexbrompheniramine is the antihistamine. It helps prevent allergic reactions. Pseudoephedrine is the decongestant. It helps relieve allergy symptoms. You can buy pseudoephedrine separately in a 120 mg 12 hour time release tablet either under the name Sudafed or as generic (check with your pharmacist; it's behind the counter). However, until recently, Dexbrompheniramine was unavailable. These pills fill in the missing ingredient to get the allergy relief that Drixoral used to provide. Unfortunately, they are 2mg 4 hour tablets, not a 6mg 12 hour time release tablet. I take one of these and one 12 hour Sudafed at or a little before bed time, during allergy season. If I wake up in the night, I take another one of these.

I am beyond thrilled! After buying Drixoral from Canada and Turkey until it was all gone, I had to try all the new generation allergy pills that just do not work. Benadryl will work but I have to take a lot of it and it makes me sleepy. I finally found this and took just one little pill this morning about 8 hours ago. I still have no symptoms...it's SO NICE!!! The trick is to take it early morning before you have any symptoms. I missed Drixoral so much and MAD they took such a great medication off the market! Anyway, please try this if you were a Drixoral devotee.....it is amazing! Update: I bought it last October for $34. Now it is $64. Why did the price almost double? This is insane.

Remember Drixoral? This is same antihistamine. It works and keeps working. Unlike chlorpheniramine that stops working in a few weeks. It can make you slightly drowsy, but none of the non-drowsy antihistamines keep me from sneezing during ragweed season. I wish it were 12 hr. But between this and 12 hr sudafed. I feel better than I have this time of year since Drixoral disappeared.

I looked for quite some time for this antihistamine. It was used in the past in Drixoral which was discontinued a few years back. This is the best stuff for relief of symptoms of either cold or flu.
