Stepping Up to Atlantic Salmon
Like all commercially available Atlantic salmon -- canned or fresh -- this Live Ocean product is farmed Atlantic salmon (they swim upriver to reproduce, but dams blocked that from happening decades ago). Yet despite a negative bias towards farmed fish, Atlantic salmon’s flakey, buttery texture and delicate flavor eclipses that of the wild-caught Pink salmon that dominates cannery product lines -- even if only because “wild-caught” has an appealing connotation marketable to the consumer. This is an intact chunk of opulent, boneless, skinless Atlantic salmon fillet; no cast-off flakes or shreds. It’s deliciously rich, with its own luscious oils surfacing in the can. Packed with 29 grams of protein and loaded with healthful Omega-3 fatty acids, it’s still very much ocean-raised, as its sustainable farming takes place in the southern coastal fjords of Chile. Sticklers will note “color added” in its ingredients, but we’re unbothered: On the whole, this is a wonderfully healthy and indulgent canned salmon. Of note, too, is its terrific value: At $5.00 can, we’re in the same price range as many canned, wild-caught pink salmons. An elevated experience. - (Was this of use? Overall great taste and texture.
Overall great product. I've been purchasing this same sleeve of cans from this brand for several years. Curious! Why was the there only 3 cans? It always been 4. In the image you can clearly count 4 in the sleeve.
