This antique thin brass and iron ladle is hand forged. It would date circa the late 1700s to late 1800s. The bowl of ladle is brass and does have some small dents, pitting, dark spots, and green spots on it. The bowl is more oval than round measuring approximately 5 1/2 inches by 5 inches, and maybe 1 inch or less deep at the center. The iron handle has a great old original patina on it, with some rust in spots, and a small decorative type hook on the top for ease of hanging. The overall length including handle and bowl is approximately 18 1/2 inches. I am selling it in as found condition. All I have done is used a soft dry cloth to clean the worst of the accumulated dust off it. It would be perfect for display, used as a prop, or clean it up and use it during a renaissance fair or civil war reenactment.
