PLEASE DON'T HOARD. DEMAND, THE PANDEMIC & GREED HAVE CAUSED SHORTAGES W/ PRICE GOUGING.
To be honest, personally, I don't eat this stew. I prefer my home made stew but my brother really likes it. He can have some anytime, in case there is none of mine left in the freezer--which happens frequently. I don't even get on his case about eating it because it's relatively nutritious, made with fresh potatoes, carrots and no preservatives. It's one way to get him to eat some vegetables. Of course, mine is better with no "extra" ingredients-- just with or without lean grass fed beef with a variety of lots of fresh organic vegetables and potatoes. The 20 oz can is a nice size for a couple meals or sharing with others. I buy as much of this stew as I'm allowed, repeatedly, for a few local food banks, attempting do my part and do it as nutritiously as possible for self stable food. That said, I don't think I'm alone because the price has really gone up, and availability down, since the pandemic has created such havoc and hardship for so many. Shame on anyone who is price gouging! You need to walk a mile in the unemployed's shoes. You need to go hungry and find yourselves dependent on the good will of others during this exceptional time. Then, maybe, you'd be a little more sensitive to fair pricing & making it possible to help feed as many others as possible. HEY! DINTY MOORE! If you're reading this...Please ramp up your manufacturing. All too often either the quantity we're allowed to purchase is limited or it's completely out of stock. Alleviating this situation, will force the greedy ones to compete on price. After all, you have jobs and the ability to purchase food, whereas millions of other Americans don't through no fault of their own. How far do you think 4, 8 or 12 cans will go in a food bank attempting to provide food for hundreds of families each week? Ok.. So, I've cut off my own nose to spite my face by giving DInty Moore Stew a good review. However, those who are buying it for themselves, also need to think about those without jobs and resources. You need to buy only what you truly need right now, and not hoard so there is some for others. Thank you. PS: 4 stars because of the escalating price and lack of availability.

I've had this so many times. This is a brand I trust and I've had others that taste the same or worse but never better or as consistent. All stews in can/pouch remind me of mres anyway. The meat in it is real but grounded coarsely and formed into little pretend steak chunks, not rubbery at all though don't get me wrong. They kind of remind me of little meat balls but not A-symmetrical more like asteroid shaped. Still meat though and taste good to me with some white bread and butter. I put on gains just eating nothing but these things for a about a few months on hard times. Working out burning off all teh fat in these and drinking a mess ton of water to counter the loads of salt is recommended though. I wouldn't feed these on a regular basis to someone immobile or struggling with diabetes or heart illnesses. The salt is too much but so is everything in this category at this price break.

Tastes good with plenty of solid food.
It's the same canned stew from childhood... Probably not that healthy, but it slides down easy and warms the belly when you need to eat but can't shop or stand over the stove all night...

Still have solid poops after eating so it's good in my book.
This is my preferred canned stew. I haven't found a better stew unless I make it myself. At $19.99 for 12 cans this was a pretty good value compared to my local King Soopers. For me, this is a good item to always have in the pantry especially in fall and winter. A quick bowl of stew after being outside splitting firewood or doing snow removal really hits the spot and I don't always have the time to do my own batch in the crock pot. I'm sure there are some ingredients that run afoul of some dietary fad du jour but I don't have any weird conditions that force me to avoid common food items. I can eat canned stew safely.

As Good As Canned Stew Gets!
Okay. It’s beef stew in a can. Not much to say, other than it’s not a bad lunch on work from home days. Cheap, easy, and pretty dang delicious. I keep a couple of cans in my bug out bag as well.

If you like this product, this size and quantity are a good value. I keep frozen peas and carrots in the freezer to amp up the veggies.

Totally satisfying
My favorite stew. I tried another brand, and it was like a can of gravy. Dinty Moore is the way to go. It's tasty and it's loaded with beef and vegetables.
