It's a Deodorizer (.)
It smells much nicer than a plain Clorox tablet which, by the way, I have also used. And mold in the public water pipelines is there with or without toilet tabs. I would speculate that the flora mentioned by some customers is a side effect of modern treatment facilities which use fungi/algae flora to consume septic bacteria out of the water which would otherwise not be killed by chlorine. That would be kinder than simply admitting that it's out of control. Blue tablets do not disguise the mold in your public water system when it begins to grow on the hard water deposits which inevitabley cling to the porcelain. In fact bluing is a good stain to alert you when it's time to scrub with the CLR or the Lime-away acids. Clorox tablets won't scrub the toilet for you. But I'm pretty sure they raise the PH a little beyond utility specification and retard hard water stain accumulation. One tablet rarely lasts beyond 2 weeks, or leaves a blue un-disolved glob in the tank when I open the lid to replace. This deodorant is agreeable to me.

At a recommendation from a friend, started using this on our main toilet to help keep clean. Very simple to use, and the blue coloring helps you know when it's time to replace. It kept the toilet clean while the water was dark blue. When you could tell the water was almost clear, the mildew in the bowl almost immediately came back, so it definitely does help with that. When replacing the tablet, I noticed quite a bit of blue gel left in the tank, so it does not disperse equally with the white bleach portion. Overall works well.

I usually use the tank tablets that are all white/bleach only. I bought these a while ago and put one in about a month ago. They do last a long time! But, my bowl water was clear, so time for a new tablet. I remove the lid and in my tank, to one side, there's a huge blue gob of blue something! I flush. It shifts but doesn't move. Weird. So I grab the toilet brush and flush again scrubbing it around, breaking up the jell-o-ish mass. I had to really agitate it to distribute into the tank water so it would flush away. There's still blue Goo in the bottom corners, I'll deal with that later. I put in another tablet and will see what happens. Yuck. Avoid the blue.

Avoid the blue.
Take care to follow the instructions- if the disk is placed in the wrong side, the water flow/pressure could use up the disk too fast & be a waste. I’ve made that mistake before. The blue water makes the bowl seem sparkling clean and disinfects constantly- dies the scrubbing work for you!
