An exact replacement work bowl for my DCL-7
My Cuisinart 14-cup food processor is a DCL-7 Super Pro, circa 1986. This replacement work bowl is the 2-tab version from the 1970's and 1980's. A longer tab is located along the top edge of the bowl near the handle and a shorter tab is on the opposite side. It fits perfectly on the DCL-7 base and properly engages my lids. I am happy that I can continue to use my heavy duty food processor with the lids and accessories I already own. Newer 14-cup Cuisinarts, such as the currently available DFP-14, use work bowls with 4 tabs and require lids that fit 4 tabs. One can use a 4-tab work bowl on a DCL-7 base, but one would need to buy a new 4-tab lid also.

Fits Processor But Cover Does Not
Product works as advertised but is a bit pricey. Our food processor is over 35 years old. Original work bowl finally cracked. Replacement NOT available from manufacturer. Had recently replaced lid. Old processors have a more powerful motor than the current Chinese processor and are better made so did not want to replace the whole unit. So, although the bowl is costly it allowed us to keep our old processor.

An exact replacement work bowl for my DCL-7
From the reviews, it did not sound too promising, however, it fit my ancient DLC-7 Pro that must be at least 40 years old!

It Fits! It Works!
I was worried it might not fit my machine (since I've had the processor for over 35 years!) And sometimes changes occur in the locking mechanisms. But it worked perfectly with the top that I still had. I have a DLC Super Pro 7 Cuisinart food processor. It's a work horse and it put to use almost daily!

it fit my ancient DLC-7 Pro!
Can't complain too much as it fits, although tightly and works fine. A bit pricey, but better than buying a new processor. There are lots and lots of model DLC-7 and as some of the reviews state, it does not fit all of them, but for my model, WINNER!

All-around Great Processor
Bought this, after much on-line research and reading of reviews from cooking websites, to replace our old processor. Comparing it to our old one, I think it deserves the great reviews that led me to purchase it. It has a nice base weight so it doesn’t slide around. It's easy to get the lid on and off and to remove the blade for cleaning. The blade sits low enough that the food in the bottom doesn’t go unprocessed, which was a problem with our old food processor. It’s very powerful (and a little loud), so if you leave your finger on the button too long, you may end up with a purée you didn’t want, but after this happened to me once I learned my lesson and since then it’s worked out perfectly for me. And the picture doesn’t do it justice- it’s a beautiful metallic red (and easy to wipe down as well).

All-around Great Processor
I really like this mini food processor. I have a larger Cuisinart food processor as well, but since I am single I thought this smaller one would be a good choice for me. It is small enough that it minces garlic or ginger well and is a lot easier to use for that than my garlic press or mini-grater for this purpose. I do a lot of ethnic cooking and like to use whole spices like nutmeg, cumin seeds, szechuan peppers, ect., grinding them as I need them. Although I don't believe this food processor was intended for that, I found it does it well. I love the fact that the blade will go both directions, one to chop and the other to grind. I can't tell any real difference in the results by using just one or the other method, but using the processor both ways does an excellent job of evenly processing all the spices. When I use it for tomatoes and onions, it chops from coarse to fine depending on how long I hold the button. It gives pretty good control over being able to control how coarse or fine you want the results to be. Again, I doubt if it was intended for this, but it works well as a blender as well. It works excellent in making dips like hummus by just adding all the ingredients at once. Again, using the blade in both directions helps giving excellent results. The bowl, blade, and top are much easier to clean than my larger processor. I use this processor almost daily and hardly ever use my larger processor any more. I have taken the larger processor off my counter and it has given me more counter space. I really like the Cuisinart brand as it is always (except for a teakettle I purchased) well made and high quality. I have learned to trust the brand and at this price, the Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus Food Processor is an excellent buy.

So much easier to use than the 8-cup model
Had bought a kitchen aid in store returned, wy to hard to even get the top off without just about breaking it and ordered this...Easy to use has plenty of power. Does what it should. Thee only small issue I have is it claims to be brushed stainless steel and it is plastic ! Paying for plastic and not S.S.

This food processor is a best buy!!!
This morning, I was perusing the items I've purchased in the past month in an attempt to see what I could review that might help other customers. Wooden spoons: Check. Heart-shaped straws: Check. Cuisinart DLC-2ABC Mini Prep Plus Food Processor: OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH! That item brought me up short; just seeing it listed nearly caused me to break down in tears, for the Lord has used it to literally revolutionize my life. I love to cook. I love to experiment, combine foods, use bay leaves where they've never been used before, and generally turn the sense of taste into an adventure. However, things have lately been complicated by the fact that I have developed autonomic dysfunction, which has kept me on bed rest, and gastroparesis, which has altered what I can eat and especially the consistency at which I can eat it. Hummus, mashed potatoes, and soft, bite-sized pastas are fine, as are sauces. Bread, coarse vegetables, and any meal that incorporates too many elements are problematic. I could eat hummus, and I could eat rice, and I could even enjoy fetta, but a Mediterranean meal that incorporated all of these simultaneously would be too much for my insides at the moment. I love vegetables, but here again, they have made the consistency of my meals much too busy for one fragile gut and appetite. But I love adding twenty flavours to one casserole!--now what? For the longest time, we had a blender, but it was just that--a tall container for mixing and pouring smoothies and shakes. If you really only want to grind or chop half a cup of food, it's more trouble than it's worth to scrape your puree out of such a tall container. However, most of the food processors we looked at were either too costly or too technologically advanced for our old-school family, or both. UNTIL... My sister found this food processor. I would say it was wonderful for the price, but in reality, I'd be willing to spend up to $150 on something that has made my life this much easier. Its capacity is perfect--we never need to process more than three cups at a time--and this processor works better than any other electric kitchen appliance we've ever owned. Another reviewer noted rightly that it works quickly, so if you don't want a fine puree, you do want to watch it--that button means it when it says "GRIND!" However, the one other button, the control for chopping, is very affective in doing just that--coarse vegetables can be ours, if we so desire. Never again will I have to laboriously mince or chop onions by hand when I'm well--I'll let this processor do my teary, dirty work! So, not everything comes out purred unless you want it to. I recently asked a family member to process some dry ingredients to make a breadcrumb-type crust, with instructions that "it shouldn't be like powder--more like the consistency of dried oats." My loved-one and the food processor did a FINE job--pun intended! My family really appreciates how easy it is to scoop or pour the processed food, how easy the cup is to wash, and the basic design. We aren't a family who really enjoys touchscreens, digital readouts, and other technological advances that turn our appliances into computers--we didn't need any extras beyond grinding and chopping and, happily, this processor doesn't feature anything beyond that. As for me, I can't say enough about how much more beautiful eating has become once again. For close to a month, I put food into my body because I didn't want to take more drastic measures, but that was all it was--ingesting nutrients, no more. Now that I can grind veggies, herbs, certain meats, nuts, and virtually anything else into an appropriate consistency, food is the lively, joyful, enheartening experience it has always been. Nowadays, I typically keep a soft starch base, puree the rest, and-voila!--TASTY, non-bland, nutritious food. Broccoli, olives, mushrooms, whole garlic, and other edibles may not be at their premium this way, but at least I can eat them, whereas I was formerly stuck with plain hummus and mild pastas. What a difference! If you or a loved-one have a medical condition that makes a softer but not necessarily bland diet necessary, and if you're looking for a basic, easy product, this one may make you, too, cry when you pass it as you go about your day--right there, on the counter, waiting for you, just waiting to grind more delicion for someone in nutritional need...

works great
The media could not be loaded. Compact unit, perfect for storing in my kitchen drawer. Powerful enough to take on chicken as it's first task! It is a 4 piece unit. The lid has a "lever" to lock into place before unit will engage. The manual comes with suggested sizes to prep prior to placing in the unit for chopping, it also has recipes. The blade is extremely sharp, be careful when cleaning. Made in China.

A Medical Necessit for ThosNeed a Soft Diet
For a small food processor, this packs a punch. Not surprising given the brand, this processor works quite well. I had to get used to it because it is much more powerful than the previous (even smaller) food processor we had before - I pulverized some onions practically into liquid the first couple of times I used it! I don't use it extensively - mainly to save myself from hand-chopping onion. My wife makes pesto in it and loves it for that. It's an excellent value for the money. I love that it is small enough to fit in a shallow-ish drawer below my double-ovens yet big enough to chop an entire small-medium onion in one fell swoop. I also like the little scraper that came with it - one minor improvement would be to have a way to attach that little scraper to the processor. We've had this for over two years now, and it's still working like brand new, so durability and quality are also good.

Compact but powerful
Writting the review after using it for 2 years. I have not encountered any issues with this item, the only inconvinience is the hole in the middle. You should be careful not to spill things as you remove the content from It.

Tiny but mighty
Purchased in September 2018 and still going strong. My wife used it almost every day for the first 18 months to make individual fresh fruit smoothies, and it always did job without fail. She has since added chopped nuts to the routine use, and she wonders why she was chopping them by hand before now. The unit is easy to disassemble, clean & reassemble. Construction is sturdy, it takes up very little of our limited kitchen counter space, and the red color is attractive & matches our decor. We would buy this product again without hesitation, though we don't think we'll have to for quite some time.

All-around Great Processor
This little cuisinart is so cute!!! Perfect for mixing up/ grinding spices or dicing up little amounts of stuff! I absolutely love it works perfect!!!
ByTaoTheCat
So cute!!!
OMG -how did I get by without this mini-food processor? It can chop to mince almost everything. The "chop" and "grate" buttons are basically running the blade in the opposite direction. Going back and forth on both buttons will force all the stuff down into the blades without having to take off the cover. They include a small rectangular spatula to scrap down the insides when emptying (best thing ever). BE WARNED: Due to all the clicking and locking you have to do in order to get this to work, it can be stressful. You will need to secure the base with your hands so it won't more. At first I had trouble keeping the lid from falling off and hitting the floor along with being watchful of the SHARP blade. You basically have to manhandle this unit as you rotate it to "click" "lock" Its not that smooth but after a while you'll get a hold of it. Key is to manhandle the darn thing like you are the boss of it. . I LOVE THIS MINI PROCESSOR. CUISiNART IS THE BEST ONE! The 4 cup is the perfect size too. You will not regret buying this.

Works well--but very screechy and LOUD!
After reading a review stating the product was purchased for crushing dog kibble, I knew this was the product for me. Our little poodle cannot chew the prescription kibble that she is required to eat due to her pancreatitis condition. I bought this food processor in hopes I would be as happy with it as the reviewer I mentioned earlier. I was not disappointed. It works perfectly and is so easy to clean and takes very little storage space. And, it arrived 5 days sooner than originally stated. Wonderful! 10/8/17: After using this product to crush my dog's kibble every day for several months, I would like to change my 5 Stars to 10 STARS! This product is absolutely wonderful!

GREAT PRODUCT
It was either this mini prep plus food processor or splurging and buying the 7-cup food processor. Because I was already investing in a stand mixer, I decided to get the mini prep. Decent quality. It's made of plastic, but it is well built; no cracks (yet). Pros: -grinds (bread crumbs, dried herbs, peppers, etc) -chops (onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc). Cons: -definitely not powerful enough to do a fine grind (rice, coffee grinds, etc). -only two options to grind or chop -not durable for harder vegetables like carrots -takes very little for the mini prep to smell like burning plastic (have to turn it off for a good 5-10 minutes before starting again). I recommend this mini prep for little tasks such as pulsing (kind of like puree) soft fruits and vegetables, chopping onions, and other vegetables. This little machine is a good price for those who're not willing to invest in the heavy duty machines (with more options). Overall, I really like it. I don't love it, but it does its job. I'm better off with it than without it.

So far I love this. I purchased this after my old 10 ...
Best kitchen tool ever! I had a Cuisinart 3-cup food processor previously and quickly discovered that just a little more capacity would have been a better choice. I figured that when it stopped working in a few years, I would get the next size larger. I'd have to wait, what?, 3-5 years? Try 12 years with almost daily use. I'm happy to note that I don't have to do double batches like i did with the 3-cup as 4 cups seems enough for my family of four. Its only a month of use but I will report back on how long it lasts. I'm happy with my purchase and highly recommend this kitchen tool. I chose the classic stainless steel but they have several color options.

Mini prep~
Chewy is 12 years old and loosing his back teeth so I use it to grind up his hard dog food. It does a good job with no strain on the motor. I had the smaller model and it would shut off but come back on in a while. For safety reasons , I guess. I can double the amount with the bigger one.

Best kitchen tool ever
My mother has neuropathy in her hands and joint issues, so we needed a mini-chopper that was easy for her to open/close and clean. This one is pretty close to perfect for her needs in that regard. She is still a little wary of the delicateness of the lid locking parts, but so far she's been able to do it without too much problem. Our previous mini-chopper's lid broke so we needed to get a new one. Although we have a large food processor, my mom really likes to do a lot of smaller jobs rather than one large job, so we needed to replace the broken chopper. I looked around and finally settled on this one for the following reasons. 1. double the capacity of previous chopper - in the previous appliance mom was frequently having to split the amount of things to be chopped in half in order to get it all chopped, it was still not enough for the larger food processor, but it was too much for the little one. this chopper is 3 cups and that gives her enough space to put all the item in at one time and still have a little space in the bowl. 2. different modes - we had a nut & seed grinder & we had the little chopper, the nut & seed grinder had a very small working bowl and couldn't really handle walnuts because the moisture would gum up the blade, and the chopper was not great for dealing with the pumpkin and sesame seeds when it still worked. My mom has been experimenting with this chopper and was able to get the walnuts chopped up quickly and easily, and she really likes the way it handles chopping an onion up especially when you can add a little oil to it. This device improved on as well as replaced the other two. 3. ease of use - as I said, my mom's hands experience numbness and so she has trouble gauging how much force she needs to use to do something. with our old chopper this meant she's often over-turn the lid and lock it too roughly, this lead to that thin part being over-stressed and breaking. this lid locking set up is easier for her to see, which means she can check her efforts against the visual and not over do it. The lid is also wider and easier for her to grip, and the base that raises it up off the table makes it easier for her to see and operate. 4. cleaning - the larger size makes it easier for my mom to wash it up after use, the parts wash off easily and are sturdy enough that it doesn't feel like they'll break if they are washed vigorously All in all, we're very satisfied with this appliance and the price we paid.

My Yorkie loves it!
I had a vintage Krups mini-chopper that had served me well for several decades. It was finally having issues, and when I looked to replace it, there was an appeal to the larger capacity of this unit coupled with its small size relative to the full-size Cuisinart food processor that I own. I also liked the option to spin the blade in two directions, utilizing both the sharp and dull edges of the blade. The overall positive reviews on multiple sites convinced me to give it a try and I am glad that I did. I'm quite happy with this acquisition. I have used it primarily for making pesto, salsas, and hummus. In the past, I had to make pesto in multiple batches due to the limited capacity of the Krups machine that this replaced. Now I can transform a large amount of basil, enough for several meals, into pesto in a single batch. I do like to make an assortment of salsas to use as dips, but also as a sauce/topping for grilled meats. This device has done a nice job, and gives me good control over the texture of tomato-based salsas. When comparing the cost of commercial products and homemade, I have probably already paid for this product, and the flavor of homemade is just superior. You have so many options open to you. Finally, I have a stash of about ten varieties of dried beans, and I like making a range of hummus varieties using beans beyond the more conventional garbanzo/ceci based products. The hummus is great on its own, but can also be used as a spread on pita and other breads, and as a thickener for salad dressings. As we transition to fall, I expect to find other uses. At least at this point, after two months of ownership, this is a product I am very happy to have purchased.
