Common sense goes a LONG way
There seem to be some mixed reviews here. First off, I think anyone trying this product should be a little cautious. The spot I wanted to remove is on my face but I instead tried this on my arm first where I had a burn mark. After determining that my skin reacts fine to it, I then applied to my face. I honestly wouldn't recommend applying twice a day at first because that can be a little too intense. I usually did it twice a day over the weekend, and only once a day at night on days I'm in the office. If you use it twice a day, it does accelerate the process but if your skin is too sensitive you may have to do only once a day. This product can cause your skin to peel, turn red, and look scabbed. I tend to wear makeup over the area, but sometimes when it is peeling, even the makeup doesn't cover it too well. So just be aware and maybe try to time the process with your work schedule if you are concerned about looking a mess (I try to time when it will peel to the weekend but I'm never 100% sure how quickly the product will work). It will not always peel either so if it just keeps staying red, stop using it and wait for it to go away. That happened to my arm and I actually thought it made it worse but after I stopped my use and waited a few days, now my arm looks way better and the burn mark is blended into my skin. On my face I have a large hyperpigmentation spot. It is not melasma. Idk what it really is and doctors tend to say it's a birth mark but it didnt appear until I was a teenager. Anyway over time it got bigger to around a nickel sized brown mark. I saw this product when searching for skin lighteners and wanted to try it. It has worked for me but it took a while. I think because I have such a large and dark spot, it wont just magically remove it. It still made it significantly lighter though. I applied for 2 months (Aug - Sept 2018) and then stopped. After the break I started again around December 2018 but this time it turned out to re-darken some sections of the spot. I think I was overusing the product. I took a much longer break (probably like 6 months), and started again and it is lightening the area again. At some point I will post photos because it has been a drastic difference for me. However, I'm picky and want it to be very light that you don't even notice it. I'm not there yet but at least I can apply makeup over it and fully cover it. In the past the spot would still be noticeable over makeup unless I applied tons and tons of layers. My goal is that I can wear no makeup and be comfortable with how it looks. Another thing to note is you need to be using sunscreen with this product. I'll admit I was out in the sun a lot the first time I used the product but I wore sunscreen constantly and also a makeup layer with spf over the spot. However, for work I was just applying my makeup (it does have spf) but not a sunscreen layer under it. Now I have started wearing a daily sunscreen or moisturizer with sunscreen protection every day. Just wear it or there is a chance the spot will darken from the sun exposure. I also wear oversize sunglasses (it covers up most of the spot) and hats when I can. I think in general, daily sunscreen use even after you finish using the product is a must. The sun is probably what caused the spots in the first place, so the sunscreen is your best protection to keeping the spots from getting dark again or new ones appearing. Overall I absolutely recommend this product! It's 100% worth trying if you have spots you always wanted gone but nothing works. Just be careful when using it (dont go overboard and apply too much; wash your hands after applying or use a Qtip to spread the serum). No matter your skin type, you should patch test the product first especially prior to using on your face. The product seems a little pricey but you only need to apply a small amount each time so it should last for quite a while unless you have tons of areas you are trying to fix. However if the product turns a dark brown color I think it is expired and I would toss it at that point. If it's just a light brown color or clear it should be fine. My original bottle did expire after about 11 months so I ordered a new one that is working better. I don't like spending $25 but it is actually much cheaper than laser treatment or a ton of dermatology appointments. This will probably not work for everyone, but it is worth a shot. Another note: it says not to mix this with benzoyl peroxide or other skin lighteners. I stop using most of my skincare products while on this just to make sure I don't mix something wrong. I continued using my facial cleanser and micellar water but I reviewed the ingredients to make sure they should be okay. I continue using my daily moisturizer too as it is recommended you use one with this product. Good luck if you try this product and I hope this review was helpful.

This product will ruin your life
The media could not be loaded. I didn’t see very much in the reviews for freckles. I very clearly have a LOT of sun damage on my arms and body. This is about 2 full weeks and yes, the after picture (right) is red, but this immediately after application and some mild exfoliation. I was not convinced it worked and was so upset until I put the photos side by side and looked at my other arm. The difference in person is obviously better because everyone noticed and was blown away before I was lol. By the time I’m done, I will not be recognizable because I haven’t been without freckles since I was 15. Anyway, I have tips for you. You have to be patient with this product if you’re using it on your body. My face peeled in a day. My arm did not peel until the 4th day and it was barely noticeable. Nothing major happened until a full week and a half. Pros: -works great on freckles, even very old, deep ones! - 2 weeks is all it took to fade years-old dark spots -no funky smell - again, IT WORKS!!! I’ve been searching for years and it does what it says -a little goes a long way! One pump and I can cover half my face or half my arm. -this product is affordable and no-nonsense. You’re not paying for something stupid that smells fruity and works in maybe a few years of continuous use. Cons: -it has an orange tint that stains lighter skin tones until that skin peels off. - it does burn, but not like you are on fire! It’s a chemical you are putting on your skin that causes peeling. -your skin will turn very red for a while if you are as pale as I am. It goes away and is 100% not permanent. -didn’t quite work as quickly as I wanted, but I am not the most patient individual lol - takes quite a while to dry, but doesn’t transfer onto anything, oddly. -product is small! If you are treating large areas like I am, you’re going to need multiple bottles and some time. One bottle is perfect for face. The cons look like they outweigh the pros, but they absolutely do not. This product works, but you have to understand how these acids and hydroquinone works. It’s not a “bleach” and yes, you’re going to peel and your skin will be sensitive until it heals. My skin looks so red in the video and photo but I’m using flash AND I expholiated right before. The redness is NOT permanent whatsoever, I’m just aggressive lol. Please wear sunscreen when using this! As someone extremely sensitive to the sun, this product amplifies sun sensitivity to the treated areas. I didn’t use anything under 74-110 spf. Use sun protective clothing (sleeves, hats, sunglasses, even your mask) if you have to until your skin heals. It’s a small price to pay. I want to again stress that the redness, peeling, and orangish tint go away! I’ve seen reviews claiming their skin looks darker. You WILL look darker but this is not permanent and is a part of this process. I literally watched my freckles disappear before my eyes after peeling. Also, wear moisturizer like crazy at night. I use Palmer’s fade milk every other day or at night and it works well with it and moisturizes my skin so the peeling is barely noticeable. Also, I did not use twice a day. It’s a little sticky to wear in the morning but if you stay home you’ll probably get results faster than I did. If using on your face, use retinol with it! You’ll wake up glowing. I recommend Roc retinol products. I have too many events coming up for my face to peel but I will eventually post face results too. Keep going and give it time, gorgeous!

It works!
I developed Melasma across the tops of both cheeks that ran from the top of my cheekbone in an angled line toward the apple of my cheek like a map of Japan. Then it started above my brows. For 7 years I tried products with Hydroquinone, or kojic acid, or arbutin with no results. I even tried laser and it did nothing but turn dark brown, crust up, peel off and the pigmentation was still there. For the record I have been a serious sunscreen user most of my life, all year round, rain or shine, never leaving the house unprotected as if I was going to burst into flames if I did. This product is no joke. IT WORKS but you have to be smart. I use it only at night, half hour after washing my face. I started applying it with my fingers but soon noticed my normal color areas were also getting lighter and the melasma still stood out because it was now on a lighter background. I applied it VERY SPARINGLY by dabbing it on the dark areas ONLY with a cotton swab and letting it dry before using anything else. Because this product WILL IRRITATE the skin I started twice a week for 2 weeks and gradually worked up to every other day. Please note: the users who experienced red patches that turned dark and peeled were using too much! The only time that happens is when you get a laser treatment at a dermatologist. The goal isn't to burn the hell out of your skin. You risk developing Post Inflammatory Pigmentation and now you have to wait weeks and weeks for the skin to heal before you can try anything else. You could be creating MORE pigmentation. By using it every other day just one time that day I was able to minimize the irritation. If I did feel irritated I'd skip a day and use a dab of petrolatum/Vaseline only on the area and the irritation would subside after a couple of days. That pigmentation didn't appear on your face overnight and it won't disappear overnight. By using common sense and listening to your skin when it says OUCH! you can avoid looking like you had a fight with a curling iron and lost. After YEARS of battling my melasma it faded tremendously and now you can't see it at all! If you need to wax, stop using this product one week before. The acids loosen the bonds in the skin which helped the skin turnover rate but it also makes it delicate. If you wax while using this you will rip off many layers of skin, not just the hair and be left RAW and oozing. You'll need to use Neosporin ointment for several days, then watch it scab over, turn brown and feel tight and peel like a zombie and your pigmentation will still be there. Your skin is the largest organ of your body and it TELLS YOU when you do something stupid so please listen. When used sparingly and carefully this product WILL lighten dark pigmentation. Don't use it too close to the eyes because if it gets in it will burn like hell. Don't use it on parts of your body 'where the sun don't shine' (unless you are one of those wackadoodles that exposes your butthole to the sun for completely ridiculous reasons. Darwin will take care of you) its not meant for that very delicate skin and will only irritate an area that needs to be used regularly. Just don't do it. Don't use it on kids because their skin is delicate and there IS some question about possible links between hydroquinone use and cancer. Use tons of mineral based sunscreen on kids. (If they don't like the whitish cast it leaves too bad. You'll now have blackmail pictures for when they are in high school). This product works but its like using fire: you want to gently heat your house, not burn the whole house down! Now I use a dab once every 2 weeks and my skin in nice and even! No other product has worked as well as this.

It got rid of years-old freckles!!!!
I wish I would have taken before and after pics, but I honestly didn't think it would work as well as it does! I can only relate MY OWN experience and opinion, and I suggest that anyone thinking about purchasing it read as many reviews as possible, go to the product website, and research the active ingredient on your own. Having done those things and had the experience of using the product, these are my main takeaways: 1) Research was important!! This helped me before and after purchase to maximize effectiveness and avoid problems. 2) I must wear a MINERAL BARRIER SUNSCREEN (something with Zinc and/or Titanium Dioxide) any time I go out in the daytime, even during overcast weather. The minerals provide physical barrier protection against UV rays that the highest SPF sunscreen without them cannot provide, and prevent my melasma from getting worse and/or undoing the effects of the product. From other reviews I've read, it seems that using this product and not using a mineral sunscreen can actually make matters worse. 3) My skin tone requires me to use a tinted mineral sunscreen. Not readily available in stores, and not cheap, but keeps me from having an unnatural, ghostly whitish/blue tint from the Zinc on my skin all year round. 4) I need to time special events and use based on side-effects. I experienced a significant "rebound" effect when I stopped abruptly, and it literally looked like I had a solid mustache. I've learned that tapering off is necessary. 5) I experienced encouraging and noticeable results within 1 week, but I did experience significant peeling and skin irritation. Another reason to plan around events, so that I wasn't peeling horribly. 6) For me, the stinging sensation rated between a 3-5, depending on what state my skin was in when applying. 7) For me, it's been effective with 1 time a day use. I apply in the evening, when I'm not planning on going out anymore, or I wait until sundown. I apply the serum, wait a half hour or so, then apply their retinoid cream. I leave on overnight, and exfoliate in the shower in the morning. 8) I accidentally ordered their "Clinically Effective Retinoid Cream", and because their customer service would not respond to efforts to cancel or return the order, I figured I'd use it, and it really seemed to boost the effectiveness of the serum in terms of helping to exfoliate patches of hyper pigmented skin. Happy accident!! 9) I have resilient, non-sensitive skin, so using a strong exfoliating sponge at least two times a day worked best for me. Washcloths wouldn't quite separate the dead layers from the healthy, so it would just often roll up and remain dried on my face, or worse, take good skin with it, so the switch to an exfoliating sponge was helpful. 10) I used the product until I felt I'd hit a plateau in effectiveness. I tapered off, did not use or rarely used for about 9 months, then began using again, and experienced even better and faster results than the first time. 11) I always apply with a cotton swab to prevent my fingers from peeling, turning color, or stinging, and I only apply to the hyperpigmented areas! 12) It got worse before it got better. There were some days during the process that I looked like an extra in a zombie movie, but it was only temporary, and the long-term gains were worth it for me. 13) Overall, I went from a huge melasma mustache and large patches of hyperpigmentation on both cheeks and my forehead to a clear upper lip (I don't even apply the serum there anymore), and about 85% improvement on my cheeks and forehead. I tried multiple creams from the drug store with little or no effect. The combination of lightening and exfoliating properties of this product worked for me. The costs versus benefits are completely worth it to me, especially for a condition that my dermatologist wanted to treat with a $$$$ and complicated daily regimen.

WORKS ON MELASMA but be smart and careful!
I have mixed reviews about this product. If you use it religiously every single day along with a rigorous skin care routine you will see results. But if you start even for two days it seems like the dark patches come right back. So if you’re committed to doing this every single day for months and months, it will work for you. I’m just a person that likes to take care of my skin but likes to keep it simple, I don’t have an hour to spend every day in the bathroom applying lotions, serums, AHA’s etc. etc. I think the bottom line for me is to pay the money and get the expenses spa treatments to 11 eight my dark spots
