I did notice that the handle was very gummy. I'm not sure about where it was stored with weather. Fluctuating or if it was in a warm environment, but it was brand spanking new and had a very gummy texture which can happen with these older model irons. Not a big deal for me. Take some acetone wipe it down rubbed a little coconut oil on it and let it seep in. Like new again 🙂 very pleased with speed and delivery.
