Don't use anything else!
ALL my tropical love this. I use the "tea method", soaking the fertilizer in a five gallon bucket overnight, and watering w it the next day. It's STINKY, but get over it because it creates beautiful blooms and foliage.

DO NOT BUY!!! WORMS! Larvae! Fruit Flies! Will never buy again!
I was nervous to try this stuff, but for some reason didn't want to buy a "commercially popular" brand. This stuff has floored me. I used it about 3 weeks ago now, and here is the progress so far on what I've used it on. If you don't care to read my plants specific details, skip to the end for a good tip :) Red Vein Prayer Plant - it was sprouting a curled leaf when I used the fertilizer. The leaf was uncurled in a matter of days (much shorter than usual). In the first week and a half, it sprouted 3 new leaves - one curled leaf, and two that started as tiny baby leaves. Since then, the leaves all look SUPER healthy, the 2 baby leaves have quadrupled in size, and now this beauty is sprouting 3 new BIG leaves that I can't wait to see uncurl!! Callisia Repends Bianca - Has grown about 2-3"+ from what I can see hanging down the bottom, and I've been getting a lot more purple, light pink, and white leaves :) I have a dwarf umbrella tree in the bathroom that gets zero natural sunlight, and even that one has grown several inches! ***All in all, this stuff is magic, and 10/10 I would recommend to any others. HOWEVER...this stuff smells worse than a barn. My hubby said the house smelled like rotten, burning garbage. So I took a small spray bottle (I don't know how many ounces it is, but it's only about 3" tall - it's a small travel sized one) I filled it 1/4 of the way with rubbing alcohol, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, and the rest with water. Shook it up, sprayed GENEROUSLY on the plants with fertilizer, and it actually really helped!! (rubbing alcohol dissolves quickly, leaving only the water particles behind. This is why I thought it safe to put on my plants. And so far, no harm done) Another thing though - maybe this is typical with fertilizer and I'm just such a newbie I had no idea. After the first week, it grew mold. For container plants it says to mix the fertilizer with the soil before potting. This didn't work because all my plants are already potted. So I sprinkled it on the top and tried to gently mix and rake it in with a fork. A week later, I noticed a light, white & fuzzy topping over the soil on all 3 plants. I was sad, but noticed the plants still doing exceedingly well, so I wasn't too worried. I got the fork, and this time a big more vigorously, mixed up the top few inches of soil, and sprayed my rubbing alcohol/essential oil mix on the top. After that, I haven't seen any more mold and my plants are still thriving :)

I had a very sick hibiscus, it seemed to be suffering some some sort of transplant shock. I really wanted to save it so I found this and within a few weeks the yellowing/falling of the leaves stopped and it started blooming again!

AMAZING!!!
I planted to birds of paradise in my backyard landscaping. They were doing ok. I blame the builders who removed all of the soil and replaced it with solid sand. Not an ideal growing medium. So I bought this product to give my plants some nutrients in hopes that it would encourage them to grow. Boy did it work! I tried the tea method that I read about in the other reviews. I filled my large watering can with water and poured in some fertilizer. I let it sit overnight. Then I poured it around the base of my plants. Within two weeks of the first application, my one plant flowered! It was large and vibrantly colored. Both plants are multiplying and have large green leaves now.

This brought my hibiscus back to life
We leave our home in Florida each year to head North. I gave this to our newly planted plumeria and our well-established hibiscus. Both plants exhibit healthy growth. The hibiscus is flowering more and the Plumeria is getting more leaves. I do need to give the plumeria a refresh as our dog has eaten much of the soil. After giving the plumeria this fertilizer, I went out the next day and all the soil was gone. I didn't see piles of dirt around the ground to show any digging. I gave the plant some more fertilizer and continued working. I turned around at one point and saw my Golden Retriever lying down and getting a snack by eating the dirt. I replenished the soil again and put some grating over the top and that helped. I finally read the warning label that said - DOGS LOVE THIS! The label also said that the product is not harmful but the organics attract dogs. That was over a month ago. The dog is still kicking and the plumeria is growing - ALL GOOD! So be careful with your pets. I mean this stuff is addictive to dogs. With that being said, Dr. Earth Exotic Blend is a great product. I will put this into regular fertilizer. NOTE: The fertilizer has no noticeable odor to humans (at least I didn't notice any.)

Very convenient
These are a convenient way to give your trees some nutrients; been using them for years. A few tips: - Set the spikes after a good rain, so the ground is soft -- it will be *much* easier. - Find a clear shot in the ground with a knife first. If you try to hammer this into a rock or a root, the spike will just shatter. Heck, the spike will shatter if the ground isn't soft enough. - With the cap on the spike, push it into the knife-hole a bit with the heel of your hand. - Pound it in until the cap reaches the ground with a decent-sized hammer. A mini-sledge is best -- lots of mass, so you don't have to swing fast. You're less likely to shatter the spike that way. - Remove the cap (you don't get a cap for each spike) and pound it in below ground level. - Once you've opened the outer seal (there is no inner seal), humidity will get in and gradually soften the spikes, so either set them all within a day or two or store the remainder in a ziplock bag.

We use these every year once a year for our trees, scrubs and bushes and every year they come back beautiful in spring. My neighbors have some of the same bushes and theirs look pitiful because they do not fertilize. These photos were last year late spring

I have used these for years and am very happy
I’m satisfied with my tree spikes. I drove them into the ground using the plastic hammer cap provided with the spikes, using my big hammer. The 2 plastic driving caps split right away so I improvised and used my bulb planting tool to dig out holes deep enough for the spikes. It’s an easy way to fertilize my dogwoods and other trees. The spikes arrived on time and the price is reasonable.

Wonderful product
Metro Detroit area. Bought these for my current baby arborvitaes hedge. Staked roughly 31 in less then an hour. 1 between each gap of tree/shrub. My tip is I used my cordless power drill with a larger wood bit to pilot a hole then pushed it in and capped and hammered approx 2” below the dirt line. Cap never broke through 31 stakes. Very easy install. My ground albeit was decently soft. Will update either later this fall or next spring.

Miracle-Gro Tree Spikes
works great, planted spikes a couple of months ago on four shrubs and they are showing substantial growth after zero growth in first year without the spikes.

Simple. Painless. Hopeful.
I believe this is a great product. We moved our our single family home in Wilton, Cy to a new town house in Trumbull, Ct back in 2003. My wife took a red maple seedling about 2 inches high and placed it in a pot. She planted it next to the new house in 2005. In 2007 it was getting too large and I replanted it in the middle of the back yard. That following winter a portion of the tree died. In the spring of 2008 I used 7 Miracle-Gro Tree & Shrub Fertilizer Spikes around the tree. I have used these spikes ever Spring & Fall since 2008. The tree is excellent health & has now grown to where in the Fall of 2018 it took 14 spikes around the parameter of the tree. I used another 14 spikes this past spring. I have discovered it is best to place these spikes in the ground after a soaking rain as it softens the ground and it is easy to pound the spikes into the soil. RDF

works great, planted spikes a couple of months ago on ...
I guess I don’t actually know if these are going to work yet, since I just put them in a few days ago, but I did want to note that they are easier to put in place if you have a way to pre-dig the hole. For example, I did water the lawn prior to trying to put the spikes in, but the plastic cap you were supposed to use ended up shattering under my hammer. When I tried to drive the spike the rest of the way in without it, the top of the fertilizer spike shattered. I happen to have some wooden spikes on hand, you know, in case a vampire comes around, so I used those to pre-create the hole for the spike. It was easy to tap the spike in to those holes, and much easier to make sure that the spike itself was below ground level in this manner. Just make sure the wooden spike is close to twice the length of the fertilizer spike, which allows you to create a hole deep enough for the spike, but with enough of the wooden piece still sticking out that you can jiggle it back out.

Great Product
I used these for the first time in April 2018. My two apple trees produce an over abundance of apples. Causation or correlation? Not sure at this point. I put more spikes in in October 2018 and will put more in in April again. If I get a ton of apples again, then I will claim causation. If the trees have few apples (which I expect) then I won't know the value of the spikes. I'll be waiting to see.

Installation instructions :-)
I have used this product on my Live Oaks in the Houston area for years. At my last home my tree over a period of ten years went from the smallest on the block to among the larges. I moved into a new home two years ago and like many new subdivisions in TX the trees out front were young. Now two years later and using this product every Winter my tree (I pulled out two) is amazing. We had a deep freeze this Winter and many of my plants and shrubs failed. While I didn't expect my Laurel Oak to die, I was impressed that it came back stronger this Spring.

Very convenient
These Miracle-Gro Fruit & Citrus Plant Food Spikes, 12 Spikes arrived in perfect shape. I was glad that I had no broken spikes. These are so easy to just take a hammer and pound lightly into the ground at the drip line. I placed two around my lime bush. It's about four feet by four feet right now. I won't have to do this again until Spring. How much easier could fertilizer get? No chance of root burn because the spikes time release. This package will last me for years. I will add more spikes to the bi-annual feeding as the bush grows in size. I have bought no name generic fertilizer spikes. I was disappointed with the mostly broken spikes and poor performance. I am already pleased with my purchase of these Miracle-Gro Spikes because of the ease of use.

Spikes arrived Whole Ready to Go
I used this product 3-4 years ago. In that season, the trees grew greener and healthier. I wasn't quite sure if it was just by coincidence. This year, I tried it again. 6 weeks later, I do find that all young fruit plants are growing more leaves and faster than last year. Although not totally scientific, I believe this product is very effective. Placing them is also quite easy. I just used a 2-lb rubber mallet to hammer the spikes down into the ground. It comes with plastic protective caps too in the box. However, I do not recommend using a sledgehammer.

Hopefully Helps for Sad Juniper Trees
I have several flowering trees that weren’t flowering much in the spring. I put these stakes around them last fall and this spring they are flowering more than I have seen in the past 12 years. The photo speaks for itself.

Effective and Good for the Season
I put four of these in the ground 24” away around the trunk of my Dwarf Weeping Santa Rosa plum tree. I have never had such a beautiful crop of plums from this tree! It’s about six years old. My apricot tree has a bumper crop too. Also Last January, I had transplanted another young plum and a persimmon. I didn’t think they would make it, but these fertilizer splikes saved them! Miracle grow really works.

They Work!
I’ve been using these for several years with only one exception. That was last spring. I just had too much on my plate and did not get around to using them. All of my trees clearly missed their food. None of them grew well. I am not making that mistake this year. I purchased several packages and have already done the backyard. The front yard will be done tomorrow. I am looking forward to lots of foliage and blossoms this year.

Holy smokes! My fruit trees have bumper crops.
Following the instructions I use the fertilizer on newly planted trees, shrubs (less than one year), and the old ones (20 plus years). The trick is planting sticks right before rain. After several heavy downpours, all the trees and shrubs grow so fast and beautiful.... I will use these magic bullets again and again and again.

They Work
These are easy to use and pound into the ground with the one plastic top given. Every year our apple and cherry trees really produce. We also use these with our new birch trees and they have grown up to surprise us. This year the moose ate our trees. We will see if these give our trees enough strength to produce. Cross fingers, we have used these for approximately 10 years.

Magic bullets....This is the third order.
Trees do well with this product. Do not, however, use the cap with a hammer to put stakes in the ground. Buy a small drill auger and use a cordless drill to dig holes and just drop the stake into the hole. Use the loose dirt dug up by the auger to backfill the hole. My attempts at using the cap and a hammer resulted in broken stakes.

Best affordable plant food
There's two things that my yard has a lot of: bushes and red clay. Unfortunately, the bushes don't get much sustenance from the clay, so I use these spikes to keep fertilizer on them for a longer period of time. The only thing I need to do is pre-make the hole they go in, as the spikes are not hard enough to drive down into the clay.
