Super flavorful and crazy easy to make!
Reading the ingredient list on this homespun gullah goochee product can be startling: Sodium Caseinate, Dipotassium phosphate, mono and diglycerides. But there is something good inside not found in all the shrimp & grits recipes I've seen online. It's something from the dairy, and something sweet. The result is an astounding sauce. There's nothing special about the grits on even your shrimp. And that's how they are able to get $16.99 for a little bag of not much. If they bought the price down to $8, which it's worth, I'd buy a case.

The secret powder
I first bought this brand of She Crab soup in the covered Market in Charleston while on vacation. This is great prepared as directed. We crab, so we used fresh, not canned crab. But you can also add potatoes, bacon and substitute Clams for crab and have a fantastic Clam Chowder. There will always be at least one of these in my cupboard.

very flavorful shrimp and grits
I have bought this product for years. We vacation in South Caroline and this product brings us back to our happy place. We are hosting a charity dinner that was purchased. We will have this as our opening dish. Then Salad, Chicken and seafood gumbo. We will finish off the meal with Key Lime pie and wine. Hopefully a perfect evening.

Was give a bag of this stuff for my birthday and man was it good. There is enough grits and gravy mix for 4+ servings. Cooks up easy, taste delicious. Just need to get shrimp and anything other protein you want. Ready in 20 minutes or so. Will order again

I was born and raised in Charleston, S.C., the home of she-crab soup. I love she-crab soup, but haven't been back to Charleston since I graduated from grad school there in 1979 and miss the great seafood available in Charleston. I saw this Gullah Gourmet She Crab Soup mix and decided to give it a try. Very glad I did! I really didn't expect much, but the soup turned out great -- delicious! I highly recommend it.

Great stuff!
I first had she crab soup in Virginia and loved it!! However, you can’t find it south of the Carolinas. I thought we would give this a shot and was very pleased!!!! I added a can a crab meat and it was so tasty. I will be buying more of this.

The product is very small for about 7x3in (one time use). Nicely packet. About 12 small cupcakes. Too expensive for what it is but taste good Not organic :( The instructions on the back is very unclear. you need to add 1 cup of water bake 10 min for 425o I've modified the 1 cup of water and choose to mixed the cornbread powder with 1 cup of sour cream drop of honey and bit of butter (still alive after I've ate my combo) topped with cheese after baking. After 10 min in the oven I had to lower the temperature and baked the cornbread for 10 more min in 365o

Great Gift
I absolutely love Gullah Gourmet Shrimp & grits. I originally bought it down in Charleston SC at the city market and have been ordering it ever since. Whatever the spices and herbs they use combine for a one of a kind flavor. I always have a bag on hand for a quick & delicious and inexpensive meal. The bags are cute too and you can use them around the house to store things in!

One of a kind shrimp and grits in a cute bag!
I had low expectations, but was really pleased with the taste, thick and creamy. Really it was as good as many seafood restaurants. All it needed was a touch of Sherry on top. If you love she crab soup and can't get to the coast then this is worth trying.
