This is a unique Don Hansen 3/8 inch diameter half twisted copper wire ring/half smooth snaffle bit that can be reversed to lighten up a horse that lugs on one side of the bit. This MADE IN THE USA bit won't bend, break, and generally fall apart like the imported copies. This bit is in very lightly used, well maintained pre owned conditon. Don Hansen perfected his bits for function and balance. The mouthpiece is pure copper and promotes a soft mouth. The Don Dodge style dee rings are stainless steel. This is a genuine collector's bit and the back side of both rings is stamped with his maker's mark "DH" as shown in the photos. The rings measure 3 inches on the inside diameter, and the mouthpiece is 5 inches wide by 3/8 inch in diameter. The bit weighs 11 ounces so it is a very nice that most horses will like.
