Beatifully Made
I bought this for my mother-in-law when my father-in-law passed away. She wears it everyday and she loves it. She gets lots of compliments on the necklace. It is a little bulky so if you like small and dainty jewelry this is not the right necklace, but it is very classy and brought tears to my MIL's eyes when she opened it. It was also packaged very nicely so that when given to her we didn't have to take it out or wrap it some other way. If she had just wanted to put it up for display, it would have looked just as good on a shelf as it does around her neck. She has been wearing it for a couple of months now and it has not turned brassy or changed colors in any way. This is a well made necklace and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a keepsake urn necklace.

Despite some of the other reviews I read about this locket, I bought it anyway, and I'm glad I did. I have no problem with the locket opening (each side of the locket has a loop for the chain, mine won't open unless the chain has a lot of slack, ie not being worn and intentional slack given) I was grateful for the full detail of the floral design on the back with the wording on the front, so I can choose which side I want seen. Three things made this locket get a 4 not a 5 rating, although my overall response is a positive one... 1.) The urn inside is not secured well. The moment the halves part, if the locket isn't flat, the top of the urn falls forward. The bottom prongs hold the bottom of the urn in place, but it is unnerving to have the top just pop out. I can see how this would be a problem if the locket opened easier (like I said, mine requires a lot of chain slack to open at all) 2.) The halves of the locket are made poorly, in that they aren't the same size. The face with the wording is noticeably smaller than the backing. Although this allows me to be able to get a grip on the locket halves to open them, I don't like how noticeable the difference is. 3.) The biggest problem I had with this locket, the size of the urn. I knew the urn would be tiny to fit inside the locket, but I didn't realize that the urn would also be mostly metal with almost no occupying space. I unscrewed the lid and found there was so little room for ashes inside, I couldn't even fit two toothpicks side by side inside the urn. This made it a very difficult task, compounding my distress at having to disturb my Siamese princess' ashes, to get any ashes inside that tiny of a space. I only managed because a keepsake keyring I also bought came with a fill kit. Had I not had that, I would have spilled my precious kitty's ashes all over trying to get anything inside that miniscule urn. Thankfully I won't have to fill it twice, so this won't be a problem again.

I ordered 2 of these lockets for my young daughters after my mother passed away. Each of my girls received one of these hearts with Grandma's ashes. We took them to Build A Bear workshop and let them create their bears however they chose, and put the hearts inside them. The hearts are just the right size for this puropse. They also are not too heavy that they weight the bear down. I'm so happy we got these for the girls. Now, they can always have a little piece of their Grandma with them. I had them sealed by the funeral home when we had them filled. So, we won't have to worry about them coming apart. I would suggest having them sealed regardless. In our case the funeral home took care of everything for us.

Perfect for creating a Build A Bear for little ones.
This is a great product. My wife ordered five of these for family members. They are not terribly difficult to fill but, the vial that is inside the necklace is pretty small. So, make sure that you have someone who isn't going to mind handling your loved one's cremains. I folded a piece of paper in half and used it as a funnel, placing the cremains in the crease and tapping the paper to gently nudge them into the vial. I took the manufacturer's advice and glued the threaded cap on to the vial with super glue to avoid the possibility of them coming uncapped over time. I did the whole filling/sealing operation over a paper plate to help keep things neat. When we presented these to the recipients, they were so touched. It was a very emotional response! I would definitely recommend these as a great memorial of a loved one.

The locket is quite well made. Inside the outer locket is a small brass urn for the ashes. It is quite small, but was just enough to make it worthwhile. The brass cylinder is held in place inside, and the locket closes and locks up pretty tight. There isn't much chance the locket will open and have the cylinder fall out, due to the design of the clasp (the necklace actually ensures it stays closed). I would recommend a drop or two of super glue to the cylinder threads as you close it up. Keeps things very secure. The locket is actually fairly heavy. Not sure if it is meant to be worn, but I don't wear women's jewelry... ;) Bought this for all of our kids (girls) and they love it.

What a great gift!
The chain broke my neck out really bad, switched it out and it's fine now. I had to wrap a little wire around the top to prevent the vile on the inside from slipping out when it opened a little. Also, the heart part turned my shirts color, so I made the chain longer so it hung in a way not to rub my shirt as much. Over all I do like it as I don't fear the remains coming out of the holder since they are in a vile, in the heart.

Exactly as described, well made, sturdy and beautiful
I received one as a gift for my 14 y/o sons ashes. It hangs in my car, after about 6 months it comes open a little, but all I have to do is snap it back shut. Not a big deal, but I do worry about it...my baby is in there (some of him). My mom loved it and so I bought her one for her car for my dad. It works perfect for our heroes we lost so close together.

I lost my mother and she was cremated but I couldn't bear to not have her near so I saw these and got one for myself and sibling and my grandmother. The chain is heavy so it's not nerve-wracking wearing it thinking it will fall off. These helped me more than I can explain in my grieving process. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Maybe the design changed...
This is a beautiful necklace. I wanted an urn necklace for my grandfather's ashes, and this one is perfect. I have worn it almost every day for the past six months, and have not been disappointed. This necklace is sturdy and secure. The chain goes through the metal loops at the top to prevent the heart popping open and losing the little capsule. I have not, and will not, wear this necklace in the water, and I wouldn't recommend it, only for security reasons. I can't say whether or not I think it would hold up well with getting wet, or if the capsule would be safe in water, but I'm just not going to risk it. This necklace is not big and gaudy, but even if you thought it was too big to wear, it hangs just low enough that you could keep it hidden under your shirt, close to your heart. I personally love this and it is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I love that I can have Grampy with me at all times.

Got this to hold my aunt's ashes in as we were so much alike and I miss her every day. Wearing the necklace every day is a great reminder for me. It is well made and a beautiful piece. I purchased 3 of these lockets recently. 2013 has not been a very good year for my family. My husband of over 30 years passed away, so very unexpectedly. He died exactly 10 years and 1 month to the day of our 19 year old son's death in 2003. My brother had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this spring & he died exactly 4 weeks to the day after my husband. On what would have been the 30th birthday of our son, I wanted to have a small intimate service at the cemetery where my only other brother has rested since 1999. I placed some of my Husband's, my Sons, my Dad's, & my Brother's ashes into a small leather pouch and buried them in a tin at my brothers grave. On that day, I gave a locket to my Mom, & we put some of my Dad's ashes in hers. I gave a locket to my brothers wife, & we put some of his ashes in hers. The 3rd locket, I filled with both my husband's & son's ashes. The locket is quite a bit larger & heavier than I thought it would be, & the little urn does not hold a lot, but I think it holds enough. This is a lovely locket to hold your loved ones close to your heart. We 3 widows wore ours all that day & I usually put it on when I go anywhere. I just feel they are watching over me when I wear it. I also like the long chain which slips over my head, so that I don't have to struggle with getting it on & off. It is also nice, just to see it hanging anywhere in my home, where their memories are the strongest & most remembered. This is a very nice memorial locket, at a very decent price, that I hope to treasure for years to come.

Keeps my Aunt Betty close to me
I purchased for my mom and she loves it! She cried. She now can have my aunt with her wherever she goes. It was pretty easy to fill the brass urn that goes into the locket. I did take another reviewer's advice, and filled the urn over a paper plate just in case any ashes fell.

Lovely Locket to hold your loved ones close to your heart.
this was an absolutely beautiful piece. I bought it for my teenage daughter to wear with her nephews ashes in it. It was difficult to find something that a teenager would wear. This locket was perfect because one side had words, but the other side was just a beautiful filigree. My daughter wears it backwards and doesn't feel that anyone knows why she wears it which is her preference.
