Wonderful lobster flavor but don't exceed recommended measure
I was in the restaurant business, in New England, for a quarter of a century and we used a lot of bases for soup, sauce and flavor enhancement. So, I know how much they help and the most important thing to avoid: adding too much base. This stuff is super concentrated and you must follow the instructions. Add too much and you get overpowering flavor and saltiness. The flavor of this product is outstanding - real lobster taste. I now live in Tucson, AZ, 2,600 miles from the nearest live lobster and this is my lifeline to that special flavor. Just because you are reading this, I'll give you my simple recipe for an easy lobster sauce for white fish or shrimp: Put ONLY one teaspoon of lobster base in a pint jar with a half cup of water and a half cup of half-and-half or cream. Shake well. Melt 3-4 tablespoons of butter in a pan and add an ounce or two of sliced shallots (milder) or scallions. Stir occasionally with medium-low heat until the onions are as soft as you like. Add a level tablespoon of flour and stir continuously over low heat until the flour just starts to turn tan-brown ( a "blond roux"). Shake the jar again and add the liquid to the pan. Stir continuously as it thickens, turning the heat back to medium-low. Shut off the burner and spoon it over your seafood. Note that this is a sauce that you can not leave unattended while cooking. The best
I use this product to add richness and flavor to the clam chowder I prepare with canned clam chowder. I basically prepare a white sauce using half-and-half cream, flour, and butter and then add a teaspoon of the lobster base to the finished white sauce. It's wonderful and easy.

Awesome product; an excellent add to seafood dishes
I have been using Minor's products for years. This is the first time I have used the lobster base. It is now one of my faves. I use it in my lobster bisque but it is great in clam sauce or chowders or coquille st Jacques. Highly recommended.

Great flavor!
I combined a spoonful of dissolved base with cream and every delivery of cooked shrimp (I can't go out much) spends up to two weeks covered by brine. If I could eat starch, it would be salted enough for potatoes, but I have to stick to popping these flavorful delights. Heat below boiling and the shrimp just get better each serving.

Lobster richness in a bottle.
I purchased this on behalf of a friend who used to own a French restaurant and is a skilled chef. She uses this to augment her Lobster Sauce when she doesn't have enough of the natural product. She swears by it.

Great for shrimp! Salty as seawater.
This is the universal restaurant lobster bisque ingredient. It would be totally impossible for them to hold the price and still pay the rent. This is why lobster bisque tastes the same no matter where you order it. I can buy one lobster tail and make about ten orders with it. Just dice it up and use a few molecules to make it look real.

You might want to use a little less than the directions recommend. This stuff has a lot of flavor. You can always add more. I found that 5 tsp. to 8 cups of water gave me the flavored lobster stock I desired.

This was the perfect addition to my lobster Mac & Cheese. I tasted the best Mac & Cheese I ever had in a restaurant in NY, when I looked up the recipe...this is what was missing. This will set any lobster dish on ????????

A must for seafood chowders and mayonnaise based seafood salad. This base adds a depth of flavour difficult to create at home.

Great Product.
You haven't had seafood or fish chowder until you've added a tablespoon of this seasoning. I freeze the remainder of the seasoning by tablespoon sizes and take one out each time I make a chowder. It lasts forever.

Add small amounts at a time as the base is quite salty. Add salt to your recipe AFTER adding base.

You have to follow instructions exactly!!! Otherwise the taste is overpowering, not the subtle lobster taste you get when done right. More is not better!!'
