My grandson wanted this game for his birthday. After reading the reviews, I thought he was 2 young for it. But he said he played it before and likes it. He got and has been playing it since. One of his favorite games.

Can’t get enough of this one
I absolutely love this game, I have about 15 hours into it so far and I cannot get enough. This is the first Assassins Creed game I have played, and it definitely got me interested in the series. I am enjoying the story, the characters and the progression of this game. I must say things have gotten more interesting once we arrived in England. Like other reviewers mentioned, there are a few glitches and some frustrating moments because of how they effect the controls but I can look past it because of how much effort and detail there is to enjoy. I’m glad I didn’t get this on the PlayStation. I don’t know if the poor reviews are justified because of a few glitches. Check it out.

Can’t get enough of this one
I felt I had to write a review just to give another perspective on the bugs that people talk about. A lot of people come here when their game breaks and leave 1 star reviews warning of all sorts of issues. With a game this popular this may not be indicative of the average experience. The game is incredibly complex and launching on a lot of platforms at once. So of course there may be launch day bugs, but they have patched a lot of them already. I wouldn't trust any review from November 10th as being accurate for what the game is like weeks later. I know the "seer's" bug was patched almost immediately yet people rushed to dump 1 star reviews over that. Maybe it's stuff that happens on the original Xbox One or PS4. I know some people are having bugs with save games because last gen consoles weren't always good with resuming play, an issue I had with dozens of games since 2013 on my Xbox One, so I always quit the game and reboot it when I start a new session. This is a feature of the system itself, not always the game's fault if the system doesn't resume properly. The idea that a game this complex should never have any bugs is not realistic if you have ever worked in software engineering before. I've poured my heart and soul into working on level designs for a much less complex game, and as soon as you release it someone always finds some problem to fix. The important thing is that I do fix it. And the devs for these games do, too. In any case, I've had no notable bugs or glitches with this game in 60 hours. It looks amazing in 4K HDR on the Series X. I feel they took a few steps forward with getting rid of the endless gear upgrades. In this game there is a very finite number of times each piece of gear can be improved, and every piece of gear you find can be an endgame gear set with the same amount of upgrading. Even the first stuff you wear. So there's no more MMO-style loot treadmill. Level ups are done via a huge branching skill tree where you choose every stat and ability you get from leveling up. Being too low level for an area is no longer an instant death sentence, just means the enemies there are likely too beefy for you, but it doesn't outright prevent you from winning fights in those areas. You can even set it so that assassinations always one-shot kill things, in case you hated that aspect. The difficulty customization is the best I've seen in any game. Stealth, combat, and exploration all have their own setting.

Great game
I’ve played every Assassins Creed since Brotherhood. It‘s fantastic how the series continues to evolve. Valhalla is an evolution from the previous two titles with its RPG-lite mechanics yet its bigger and in fresher more densely packed environments. Why I was initially saddened to leave the beautiful snow capped mountains of Norway I was soon pleasantly surprised with the very vibrant almost Witcher-esque fantasy environment of the 9th century British Isles. The fog, lighting and shading so beautiful I thought it had ray tracing. While some of the combat and actual task can get a little bit repetitive they do a good job of changing it up as each region has its own storyline and different objectives. The raids are a nice touch. The base game is nice and long yet holds my interest. The cinematics and scripted parts are very well done, as I come to expect from this enduring series.

It's been bug free and fun for me on Series X.
I've been playing this on my series x, it's running great with rare screen tearing, it's true that the game is boring and the world is empty, If you haven't played odessey don't buy this, get odessey instead, the graphics are the same, but odessey was way too fun to play and you can spend time exploring without getting bored, for the moment valhalla is the best game you can get now and still worth $60, but is it great... Not really.

Best yet! Great evolution for the series
New Edited Review: 5 Stars All The Way as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is Exceptional on Xbox Series X especially if you’ve got a proper Vrr capable Hdr television set such as the TCL R635 for example which is simply incredible to say the least as the New Mini Led Qled is phenomenal for Gaming as ya get the dark inky blacks with local dimming enabled set too high while also retaining the ultra low input lag as there’s absolutely no perceivable delay at all as it’s Great ! The Hdr in this Game is also on another level from anything I’ve ever seen, and not only the Hdr but the image quality is the best I’ve ever seen as Valhalla is the best looking game ever made, and the Xbox Series X 60fps only makes the Game that much better ! I’m about 7 hours into the game yet I’ve not barely scratched the surface as I’ve mainly been exploring doing a lot of side quests, and other side type missions, and I’ve only progressed the storyline a little bit in comparison but so far it’s such A Great Game as I ain’t sure how Ubisoft was able to deliver something this good in 2020 but they pulled it off as it’s virtually bug free with excellent performance throughout, and the combat is pretty awesome too once ya learn how to Play Properly !!!!!

Not as good as odessey
When Assassin's Creed switched up the gameplay and stopped focusing so much on stealth and parkour and more on action RPG elements, it was a little rough at first. Origins, while a decent game, had a lot of things to iron out not only in gameplay and the menus/inventory management but also small quality of life improvements. Odyssey was a much stronger title with a more engaging world and story than Origins. Valhalla took the best of Origins and Odyssey, tweaked the formula further, and made an impressively large game with an incredible amount of content, some free tweaks and mini-DLC like enhancements over time, and a huge world to explore. While naval combat is no longer a thing, and sneaking/stealth is minimal, and parkouring up large structures and finding the best route no longer really is necessary, the action and character building aspects of Valhalla make up for it. While by the time you reach maximum level you WILL unlock all of the skills in the very large skill/character progression tree, and there's no penalty to unallocate points and reallocate them as you change your playstyle, it never felt like these quality-of-life tweaks made it feel cheap by allowing us to freely re-spec our character at any time. Most games at least make you pay a small fee to re-spec, but not Valhalla! The story is mostly enjoyable and straightforward. The graphics are incredible on the Xbox Series X on a large OLED display with HDR and really begin to showcase the power of the next generation of consoles. Fully completing the core game can take quite a long time, some friends spending well over 200 hours, so you will absolutely get your money's worth out of Valhalla if you enjoy the Assassin's Creed franchise, especially as high quality DLC is released.

Superb Next Gen Graphics & Performance as it’s a lot of Fun on The Xbox Series X
So after Black Flag and Unity, I only dabbled a little bit into origins, and never played Odyssey yet, although I have it. Just haven't had the time lately. But I decided to get a Series X and Valhalla for cheap, and I'm glad I did. My, how the free climbing and exploration have changed. It's pretty unrealistic but I do love how the main character can literally climb just about anything. Free climb a 10,000 foot mountain? Check! I also really like the new leveling up and skill system. My character keeps feeling more beastly every time I level. Graphics are great, with a little bit of slowdown in quality mode. It's definitely not 60 fps, but I'd say it's around 50. Very acceptable, and it does run in 4k. Great game here, and looking forward to playing more. The one thing that turned me off from the newer Assassin's creed games is how insanely long they are. Just don't have 100-200 hours to sink into these massive games, so I'm glad Valhalla has a easy difficulty mode so I can just play through the main story mostly, and do side stuff if I want to. I believe Origins forced you to do side stuff to level up, which was a drag. Highly recommend Valhalla. It's a great action adventure game with excellent voice acting and stories.

Right up there with Odyssey as a great Assassin's Creed game with a LOT of content
Glitches make the game impossible to play - there are multiple quests that glitch preventing you from progressing in the story. As of today, 12/13/2020, the makers have not released any updates or patches, so, I would suggest not buying for Christmas - unless you want disappointment. Update - the bugs are fixed and I haven’t had an issue in the game since! It’s a really fun game once you get into it.

Best I've played since Black Flag
Great game at a reasonable price

Can’t get enough of this one
Well I can see why some people would say this isn't a true Assassin's Creed game, that doesn't detract from how great it is. I'm a little biased as I love all things Vikings such as the TV show or The Last Kingdom so playing this, I felt like a giddy five year old on Christmas, and the game doesn't disappoint. Even if you are a casual gamer the appeal of the Vikings is there, and rowing up and down the rivers of England is strikingly beautiful. The freedom of the open world, following the story, doing sidequests, beefing up your settlement, you name it they got it. I loved Odyssey when it came out and I personally think Valhalla is an improvement in every way. I can't wait to see what is next!

Fantastic Experience
This might be the best AC yet Valhalla allows you to live out your Viking life with a solid compelling story unbelievable graphics and solid AC stealth and control. A tad buggy at times so be sure to save often and as soon as you spot a bug restart at an earlier save.
ByZach
It’s good to be a Viking!
Great game. Easy to die in. The older games AC 2, AC REVELATIONS and the the Ezio trilogy as well as possibly black flag allowed for countering a strike when attacked which made the game alot more fun especially for a novice or recreational player. This does not have that you can only jump out of the way of an oncoming attack. Also you will spend huge amounts of time foraging for wood and metal and pelts to only get very small use from them.
ByHerbert Gustufson
Best AC yet? Perhaps. Any fan of AC should buy this game
Only played it a little but so far in love
ByBob Kral
Not like EZIO trilogy
I Love This game and on the Series X it is the best graphical game I have to DATE! IT DOES HAS SOME OPPS but you can get by them. If you can get over the messes the story line is awesome. No give me here Story line check, Graphics Check, Game play Check. The skill line needs work however on some, i have to re use my points a lot for different combat situations and that is not good. But in all I do Love the Game it is a masterpiece.

Great start, high expectations
Okay. Odyssey was kind of fun. This is flat out fun. Again, quirks of the XBox One really bugged me. Once I got it up and running though... good times all around. Solid story. Nice environments. Good use of mythology. Fun decapitation.

The Best of the Best
As someone who tries and gets all the achievements for all the assassin's Creed the same grind is there but if you want to take a break there are tons of distractions. From at times annoying bass hunter, def jam battles of flyting, or antique dice games of orlog. Story is decent adding to the over arching main story line. Bit like Witcher 3 at times if you wish to ride around on horseback and come across some random events on the side of the road. Bit glitched at some points ie your character not showing up in cut scenes and the random insta death of being thrown across the map. Glitches were spread out so and never progress breaking for myself unlike a certain other AC game *cough* Unity * cough*. All and all if on sale go for it. I sank 120+ hrs into getting all the achievements but it could be ran through in a shorter amount of time if you just want the story. Multiple endings so if you want the best ending check online guides.

Best Xbox controller mod out there
I’d just like to say, I bought this a month ago and it’s been amazing! My gameplay is way better, and it was totally worth the money. If you’re reading these reviews seeing if it’s good for fortnite. It’s great!

The media could not be loaded. 08-20-2020 so for the past week I noticed static here and there and now for the last few days the controller becomes unresponsive. And if I unplug it off and on it straightens out but happens over and over. I think its safe to say its life has expired. Only lasted 8 months. (UPDATE) Okay, bought this to replace the other pack with the two paddles..totally love the idea and it works great, buttons are responsive and performs top notch....Except 40% of the time in the few days I've had it, it somehow disconnects the connection and is unresponsive, usually starts by making really bad static and doesn't go away by turning it off, unplugging or turning off my xbox, eventually it straightens out but its irritating. With that said, I still love this and prefer it over the other pack. 04-05-2020 Okay, its been several months, the issue I had is fixed, after a few days of use the wire seemed to have attatched properly. With that said, I totally love this unit. Makes gaming so much better and it has held up nicely. UPDATE 05-17-2020 really happy with this, I use it often (Played Titanfall and now Apex) the buttons are holding great, maybe sometime in the future they could be a little more comfortable, just a thought. Also, it responds rather quick when mashing buttons like a maniac. Great Product!

Honest review
I wanted to buy and elite controller, didn't want to spend the $150, so I went with this instead. Very happy I did! Paddles are great and super easy to map out. The paddles themselves are not the most comfortable in the world, so I put some grip on them and that helps a ton. Have not had any issues with paddles or the power cord. Very happy customer!

Update on 08-20-2020
I bought these for my son instead of buying an Elite of Scuff controller. The installation was easy and only took a few minutes. at first he thought it would be difficult to have a wired controller but it makes for a more responsive gaming experience. The paddles are a great way to improve your game while not breaking the bank. My son has recommended them to friends. Overall great product. Very happy with the purchase. The included Micro USB cord is more than long enough.

Excellent product. Does exactly what I wanted, which was custom map buttons to the back paddles. Easy enough to switch mapping on the fly if you ever need to but if not the buttons are saved between uses. No reason to spend over one hundred dollars on a Xbox pro controller, this does everything and it even comes with a cord so no need for batteries either. Has lasted over 6months no problem I am very pleased with this product

Excellent buy
Item delivered in a sturdy box. Everything worked fine. Having four buttons instead of four paddles was a game changer. If you’re going to use this item to it’s full potential, I would definitely invest in their annual ModPass subscription. However it works amazingly without out it. Remapping your controller to the buttons needs careful consideration. I remapped popular binds to unpopular locations in order to utilize the four buttons to their highest potential. You can move aim and fire to your d-pad then assign those to the strike pack buttons. Then you can remap your triggers to something else. That was more of an explanation. I didn’t remap my triggers, but I did remap the bumpers and reassigned them with other functions. Hope that all made sense. Either way, this is a great product and I will buy again!

Great add-on if you don't want to spend $150 on an elite or scuf controller
It's a perfect entry into the modded controller world. I started with this before getting the cronus zen and I must say I am a huge fan of this 4 paddle button eliminator pack! Whether you just want to keep your hands in the same place and replace the Xbox Ones X, Y, B, and A face buttons and have them testing comfortably on the back paddles of where your hands are already resting was a huge win for me. The pack slides and clips in perfectly to the xbox one s controller perfectly where the batteries or battery pack go. Then plug it into the controller, use the micro usb cable provided to plug into the pack nad console and you're good to go. It fits ten times better than the awkward dominator pack w two gigantic paddles so awkward. While I still give it 5/5 stars I'll mark 0.5 off for having to spend $15 to register the device for one year of the software you use to load gamepacks and mods. But it's a pretty small price to pay for an ever growing library of gamepacks and mods. My favorite as I am not that big of a FPS auto aim player and play a lot of sports games and third person action games is the Advanced Action Repeat mod. It Allows you to record up to 4 different combinations, one to each paddle, and it can come in handy if you use it right. Playing assassin's creed I can set a great block attack strong attack combo to one button and the other a quick evade and roll into an attack combo... The possibilities are endless. I can record my jumpshot in nba2k and release it green shot timing and then just tap that paddle to repeat it for a near green shot every time. Or a turbo boost into a spin move hop gather dunk. You get the point. But mostly I just love having A, B, X, and Y buttons never having to be tapped again. Instead I use the 4 paddles and remap the buttons to them for quicker play and less button mashing. You'll be happy with it. It does require some patience nad learning.

Received product as described.
I can't get my headphones to work at all with my controller that has this device installed. They work fine plugged into a spare controller, however, so I'm not gonna take any stars away... just wanted interested parties to know. You will also be turning your wireless controller into a wired one, and one without a quick disconnect at that. Not a problem, but something you may like to know when looking into this item. So I've been playing some FPS on the xbox since my gaming PC bit the dust and I've been having a terrible time of adjusting to the controller. Taking my thumb off the right stick to hit a button meant a split second of just facing a direction rather than fluidly moving and doing the thing I needed to. For instance, jumping and firing a shotgun. Before, I would have to get my aim done before or after I hit that button, now I can keep my thumb on the stick and aim *while* I'm doing the thing. Noticeable improvement. Remapping the buttons on the fly is really easy, you just hold the left or right square button on the back and hit the button on the controller you want, then let them go. I see that this has all kinds of other functions, but I can't comment on them as I haven't tried any of them out. May update the review if I get around to it. But just having the paddles on the back has made buying this product worth it. Take note of the first couple things I said, decide if that's a problem for you, and then buy this. Cause it works.
