Functions okay
It seems to work okay. However, one of two sanding discs fell off in the middle of sanding and would not stick again. Once it came loose, the disc's felt backing was stripped away and ruined (even though the rough sanding surface still had life.) It was not obvious if it was the sanding disc itself or whether the velcro-like "barbs" on the new backing pad did not grip properly--this had never happened before with the previous backing pad. I was able to finish the sanding job without further problems with a different sanding disc.

I bought this pad for a Craftsman orbital sander (Model No. 315.116211) to convert it to a hook and loop setup. While it fit the same hole and bolt pattern, the shallower holes for the plastic pegs on the Ryobi Sander Backing Pad were not deep enough, so when I tightened the screws, it smashed the plastic pegs on the Craftsman sander somewhat. I used a drill press to drill larger, deeper holes in the Ryobi Sander Backing Pad to accommodate the wider (smashed) pegs, and it fit perfectly. A little more hassle, but it was worth it. I haven't actually sanded anything with it yet, but it seems to be of high quality and don't expect any problems. I would advise to check how the plastic pegs of the sander fit the pad before tightening fully.

Required hole modification for use with 4.5" original pad but works great.
Bought this to replace the backing pad on my and my father-in-law's Milwaukee sanders. Tried to find one for Milwaukee specifically, but read reviews that said this Ryobi backing pad should fit my Milwaukee and it does! It now grips sanding discs like glue again where the old one was smoothish and no longer gripped. Just check your sander for the number of screw holes to know if this will work for yours.

Fit my Craftsman sander with adjustments
Perfect fit for a Craftsman 315.279620 sander. The velcro portion on the face is different....doesn't have the "grabbers" the original had but seem to hold the sandpaper just fine. The screw holes and air holes lined up and it was on the sander in less than 10 minutes.

Great pad to replace sander that no longer grips
No issues at all! My old one was worn so bad, new paper would just fly off if I wasn't pressing the sander down. I'll take better care of this next pad, but now I know it's an easy fix when it happens again.

Perfect fit for a Craftsman 315
Not too much to get thrilled with here. It will fit other brands. If your original one has 4 mounting screws at a 1-5/8 center to center it will work. I had a craftsman professional that was at least 10 years old.

Pad itself is quite good. Only concern is the mounting screws are not included. Not a big concern, just something to be aware of.

Perfect match and quite less than what the craftsman replacement would charge. My model number FYI is 315.279890. My guess is that most craftsman orbitals would fit.

Bought this to replace the pad on my Chicago Tools (Harbor Freight) sander. It fits, mostly. That larger hole in the center is a little too small for the Chicago Tools mount. I ended up using my router to shave that center hole a little bigger. Still not bad for the price, if you can make it work.
