some advantages over other testing companies
There are essentially three groups of people leaving reviews: the pedantic, the obstinate, and the curious. I fall into the latter category. I purchased this product because I was curious about my heritage. My grandfather was Mexican, and the rest of my family is of European descent. Unfortunately, through this test, I discovered that my grandfather was less Mexican and more of an Asian one-night stand with my grandmother. My father has always looked Asian, so I guess we should've seen this coming. You win some. You lose some. The pedantic people are furious because the test is not precise enough. "WHAT! I'M ENGLISH/NORTHWESTERN EUROPEAN? BE MORE SPECIFIC!" I'm not sure what they expected. The test can't identify specific regions with absolute accuracy. Sure, there may be some inaccuracies in there, which they tell you if you bothered to read their FAQ, but AncestryDNA is constantly updating the results as new information is processed. This category of people also does not understand the science of how they're trying to obtain your ancestry, so it's just easier for them to complain rather than research anything. It's not magic; it's science. If you already knew you were Eastern Asian, and it told you that you were Eastern Asian, it's not wrong. Don't get upset that it can't identify your particular country of origin yet. The obstinate people take the test in hopes of seeing something new, but then they get upset when it's not what they wanted. "I AM NOT HALF ENGLISH. I AM FULL GERMAN. THIS TEST IS RUBBISH!" Well, from saying "rubbish," I'd say you're a bit more English than you think. One of your grandparents/great grandparents could have moved to Germany from the UK, so that's why your results showed English ancestry. Alternatively, maybe someone in your family isn't a blood relative that you thought was. If you were going to refute whatever the test said anyway, then why take the test in the first place? AncestryDNA also shows your results as a percentage of what they BELIEVE are your results, so it is by no means 100% accurate. TLDR: If you're curious concerning your ancestry, take the test. It might not be entirely specific, but it's constantly improving.

I thought 23 and Me was fast, getting my results to me within 3 weeks, but Ancestry DNA only took 11 days from the date they received my sample to the day they issued my reports. I like how they group family relationships under "close family", "1st cousins", 2nd cousins, etc. I do wish they would provide us the capability of seeing how much DNA a relative shares with another relative in our database. 23 and Me does offer that which is very helpful when trying to piece together relationships when you don't want to bother others with sharing invitations. I had found a niece I never knew on 23 and Me, who then led me to Ancestry where I found someone who is either a niece or a half-sister. Very surprising results to say the least! It IS tempting to subscribe to the documents Ancestry offers so you have to have some sales resistance! I did subscribe and have found interesting documents of ancestors, i.e. immigration papers, census records, etc. Plus, it's easy to build a family tree and access other relatives' trees as well. The origins portion was along the lines of 23 and Me results so no surprises there. I didn't find much difference in how they presented those results either. I would like to know the breakdown of British from Scottish and details of where in England my ancestors are from, but I understand there is only one test that goes that far - Living DNA - but it's $119 and for that much I'll just stay in the dark, thank you! If it comes down in price I may consider it. Overall, I recommend Ancestry DNA if for no other reason than the larger database and accessibility of associated products.

People Expect Too Much
1) So much cheaper then hiring investigators to dig up your background 2) Cheaper then the courts 3) Best way to by-pass closed adoptions :) Its worked for me, I've found half of my Biological Family. Now Ancestry take a bit of time to navigate to learn what to do during the free period, but worth paying for a year if you truly want to find your family. Took me 2 years and lots of work, so don't give up... Best of Luck

Received results in 11 days!
Good Lord this opened a can of worms. Gave to my wife as a present. Found four generations of lies & cheaters. At 50 she learned she has more siblings. After verifying through documents & records, they have met and are close now. Other revelations didn't turn out as happy. Some things are better left alone.

Adopted? Looking for Biological Family?
I've really enjoyed doing this DNA kit. My largest issue with any of these kits is the privacy concern, but if you don't want to deal with that, don't take one. The accuracy seems good based on what I know of my family history, and it has accurately correlated me with all of my family members who have already taken the test. Bear in mind, these are for fun. You see stuff online about people getting in these massive kerfuffles with family about the test saying someone is a cousin not a grandparent or something like that. There is a range and it is important to keep that in mind. Don't accuse someone of something crazy based on ancestry results, do a little further investigation. So long as you understand these are entertainment, not gospel, they are a great time.

Arthritis in my knees
I have been taking this for a few months, I certainly notice increased knee pain when I forget. When I take it I notice a difference by the next day. I am a nurse practitioner and have been recommending this to my patients. I have had feedback of other successes from the supplement. I will continue to take this.

Does this product really work?
Great product. Substantial difference in helping my daughter, who has 4 slipped discs.. I take it also to keep joints healthy..added turmeric is just excellent as well..Will buy again and again..

Good for my arthritis
This product absolutely stunned me. I asked my doctor if I could try it, and she said yes, but to give it up to 6 weeks to work. She said it works for some and doesn't work for some. Four days in and I'm completely pain-free. I have no idea how long it'll last, but for as long as I can stay off Ibuprofen, and have no pain, I'm in.

Actually Works
So I used to use a different product that got discontinued and I've been looking for a substitute ever since. I gave this product a try and to my happy surprise, it works. Since I work a desk job both at my day job and home business I needed to increase my exercise routine. So I decided to start running again. (Nothing burns more calories faster and I'm short on leisure time at the moment). It's also high impact. Happy to say knees and other joints are doing fine. The rest of me still has to get used to the routine. BTW, I tend to average minimum 2-mile runs 3 times a week. Also while not included in this product I also add Ginger Root 550mg x 2 = 1100mg total. This is to prevent or control inflammation. Also, I use runners insoles on my running shoes. This is to cushion impact and to maintain proper posture while running. I have similar insoles in my regular work shoes which are Nike monarch II sneakers. I'm a programmer so casual wear is standard. Hopefully, you all have similar positive results.

Stunned at how well it works
I purchased this product with an open mind, I read the negative reviews and decided I would have to see if this would work for me. After 6 months of pain from a torn meniscus, for which I decided not to do surgery on but did do several blood plasma injections and plenty of “RICE”, after 3-4 days of taking the suggested double dose for severe pain(6 pills), I can say I am nearly pain free! I can exercise again and do things I no longer was able to do. Ibuprofen 800 and Acetaminophen 650 wouldn’t work for the severity of my pain. It has been about 10 days and I am amazed, I will continue to purchase this product.

It works
I started taking these about 6 months ago and decided to take for a period of time before making any judgements. I have two problems that are associated with arthritis and one really big problem with chronic sciatica. I cannot believe the difference since taking this formula, along with a turmeric tea manufactured by someone else. The lower back and neck pains are considerably less and my sciatic nerve has not been kicking up the storm it usually does. Part of the sciatica has been helped by exercises that I do daily, but I must give some credit to these miracle pills. I find it hard to believe that three of these pills per day make such a huge difference in the quality of my life. Thanks, Vimerson!!!

Arthritis in my knees
I use these because my joints hurt. I bartend for almost 20-30 hrs over the span of 48 hours (Friday-Saturday). I also bike everywhere which is about 40-60 miles a week on average. Not to mention I am a full time student and carry a heavy pack everywhere. I started taking these 6 days ago. First day I took 2 and then read the label of suggested 6 a day as a "loading dose" so I started that for the last 4 days. I can honestly say I feel a difference. I worked 18 hours straight on my feet on my third day and I felt minimal pain in my knees when I would normally be a 7 out of 10 on a pain scale. Literally everyone I worked with was saying how are you standing. If you don't know what a loading dose is- its basically is a large amount (2/3x) the normal dose of something you take initially to build up a good amount in the system. After this is done you reduce to a normal dose. I will burn through these fast if I take the loading dose of 6 a day for two weeks but I think its worth it if it reduces acute joint pain right away. I feel its a small price. But if your taking these to maintain I feel a normal 1-3 pills a day should help once it builds in the system. I was surprised at the amount of relief I felt only after 3 days being on my feet for so long. I will get back and update my review after I take for a month or so.

Good acute joint pain relief with loading dose- so far so good!
I bought these for my grandmother who won't take any medications. Her arthritis is getting really bad and the prescription her doctor gave her made her feel sick so she wouldn't take them. I'm known to be the crazy supplements person in my family, and am obsessed with ingredients. This product had what I was looking for, and proper percentages. I was surprised that not only did my grandmother take them, but asked me to get her more since she ran out before telling me, and could notice a difference. First time she's ever consistently stuck with something that was good for her, in her entire life.

Arthritis Relief
I had been taking this for over month, and ran out. I then tried a lower cost one that seemed to have the same ingredients and my knee pain returned after a week. So I've come back to this one, I'm not sure what makes it so effective but it definitely works for both me and my mom. Also since my mom has started taking it she no longer needs to use her cane. We take it along side pro/ pre-biotics. Good luck guys!

Great product but misses one ingredient
I see there is over 2200 reviews, but thought I'd give one more. I'm working on my weight, but in the meantime I'm about 55 pounds over weight and only 5'3". My right knee was giving me some serious pain, and some popping. Within a couple of days of taking 2 pills per day I was feeling about 50% pain relief and increased mobility. Upped it to 3 pills per day - now about 75% relief and mobility. I started with 2 pills in case my stomach couldn't handle it... but all was just fine. They don't have a very pleasant smell but I'm a big girl so I handled it. Perhaps when I get to my goal weight the 75% relief will higher.

Eliminated my runner's knee!
Absolutely the best thing for joint pain!! I play basketball once a week . And at 42 years old 6 feet 2 and 336 lbs by knees have been killing me . After only 1 1/2 weeks of this I played the last two weeks with no brace and no pain at all. You have lifetime believer here !!!

Two weeks later - 75% relief
I've tried other brands some of which had too many other ingredients. This brand seems to have only active ingredients, with no fillers, and provides almost immediate pain relief. After about a year, I'm still pleased with the results and have no plans to change.
