Convinient tripod with so many features!
With a built-in BLUETOOTH wireless remote control, this grip and tripod is suitable for general shooting or vlogging. This shooting grip, when mounted to a lightweight or mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, provides excellent keep and placement flexibility for still and video shooting. The price is also unbeatable and apt for this device!

Tooo good!
I am using this gear since last 4 years. Most important gadget for any vlogger or camera person. Very light weight, super handy, sleek design. Easy to calibrate with camera bluetooth, all button function really well. No lag faced yet. Amazing product.

Amazing device that makes taking photos and videos easy
I recently bought the Sony ZV-1 vlogging camera and this wireless shooting grip has become my best friend. It helps in situations like video taking where you can vlog without holding the camera without dropping it or having to deal with extra wires. Photo taking for selfies is extremely useful with this grip as well. I also made use of the mini tripod in extends out to be which helps if you want to take a stand alone video on your table, counter, or low profile shots. Highly recommend as it makes life so much easier...and I'm just an armature!

Cheap feel
I'm happy I brought this along with my camera. It was easy to connect to my camera. It comes in handy. I can take photos of myself without the timer, so it saves time. I can zoom in and out while I'm filming. I love it!

Amazing device that makes taking photos and videos easy
Quality is expected from Sony. No setup instructions other than insert battery. I went to YouTube. Easy enough after that. Using the a6600. I Had to change an option to allow for digital zoom to be controlled by the button on grip.

LOVE
I can't shot video without it, it's so useful, fast to use. I just wish the zoom button was offering more subtlety, but that would also means a higher price then. Anyway, really worth it.

Official Sony Product/Quality
Solid. A bit expensive, but on par with other Sony products. The only thing I would have liked is a place for a lanyard (so if I accidentally dropped it, It would be secure on my wrist). The problem is where to place the lanyard. When you use it as a tripod is secure for Sony a6600 camera, but I am not sure if it is sturdy enough for the Sony a7 camera. Still I like much better than the wired model.

Pricey but Functional
I purchased this grip for use on a Sony a6400 and a6500. It works well for both. I had two uses in mind. 1) As a grip to steady the camera for low shutter speed shots. The a6400 does not have In Body Image Stabilization and some of my lenses are not stabilized either. I use both hands to hold the camera with the grip attached; my left hand on the grip, and my right hand in the normal position on the camera. This gives me two axis hand-held stabilization. 2) As a travel tripod. I don't take many shots with me in the photo but when I do this will be the only tripod I'll need to pack and carry. It is small and light so fills that need quite well. For tripod use I've found it works better if I spin the camera around backwards on the grip. That puts the single middle leg under the lens which is more stable than having the other two legs off to the side where they aren't as stable. In the reversed position the single leg of the tripod protrudes about 1 1/4" further. See the photos. I think the design would have been better if the single leg was under the lens. Pros: - Small and light - Well built. - The slide on the foot allows better balance of the camera and lens. - A wrist strap is included - A travel pouch is included - The shutter button works well but I wish it could be programmed to be on the left or right as needed. - The zoom works will, even when using the Clear Image Zoom on a non-zoom lens. - It certainly is good to have an alternate video button as the a6500 video button is very poorly placed. Another review said the zoom buttons don't work during video recording. That is not my experience. Using the Sony 18-105mm f4 lens the zoom buttons on the grip worked during video recording. Cons: - I don't like the type of wrist strap included. I'm not going to commit $2,000 of camera and lens to the thin thread - The tilt adjustment is too course. - It is overpriced by half.

Nice idea, but currently disappointed - read on!
There's a newer model (VCTSGR1) available as a pre-release order but I selected the GPVPT1 since it has the main features I was looking for for my Sony RX100 V5 camera which is available now and is cheaper. The movie, zoom and photo buttons on the GPVPT1 work fine without any problems. I don't plan to use this grip with my Sony a7ii but I did test it with this grip. The movie and photo buttons work. The zoom button didn't work but that's because my Sony 24-70mm lens doesn't have a motorized zoom. Accidentally pressing the movie button on both cameras was a problem I frequently had but the movie button on the grip should prevent that in the future. Overall, I like the compact size of the grip, the function buttons and I suspect my videos will be smoother with it. Additional note: The sliding tripod screw on the top seemed like it might be a better feature than the fixed screw on the new version if the grip is used with different cameras but I haven't come to any conclusion on this yet.

Pricey but Functional
The grip is very comfortable to hold and the controls are easily accessible both when you're holding it in your hand and when it is being used as a tabletop tripod. Despite its plastic construction, it seems relatively sturdy and stable. However, I will say that I got this in a bundle with an AX53 video camera. That's a big, heavy camera (compared to the palm sized video cameras that you can get today) and its almost too much for this stand. The camera feels a bit top heavy whether you're using this as a grip or as a tripod. Nevertheless, the tripod still functions quite well and doesn't seem to be prone to tipping as long as you kept it balanced when you set it up. Also, I see that a previous reviewer says that the zoom buttons don't work when the camera is recording. That's not a problem with my camera. All the buttons work all the time. It is a bit pricey, though. Since I got it in a bundle with the camera. So, I didn't really pay nearly what the asking price for this item alone is. I think you would have to have a real need for exactly this kind of accessory to make it worth it.

Compact and Function Buttons Work Well
I used grip yesterday for about 3 hours straight. It definitely makes it more comfortable to use the camera. The buttons worked every time. It was very easy to stop and start the recording. I really like the zoom button. If you push the zoom button gently, then it does a slow zoom. If you press a little harder, you can feel like a "click", and it zooms in more quickly. I really like that feature. The grip is pricey, but for me it's worth it. I kind of wish the grip was longer and thicker. Maybe even a pistol grip. But it works well as it is.

Nice little grip and tabletop stand
I use this with my Sony RX10 when I am going to shoot videos as it makes it very easy to start and stop the recording and to zoom if desired. I used to use video cameras to film my son's football games (he's the coach now) and find that the RX10 makes it far easier to film them, as I don't have to bring anything other and the RX10, this grip, an eye cover, and an extra battery. No more tripods, large camera bags, external viewfinders. I have never used this as a tripod and when the legs are closed the grip is quite comfortable to hold. I did purchase a neoprine device that fits over the RX10 eyepiece and then covers my left eye so that I don't have to close it, which makes the other eye less able to see. Works like a charm and the quality of the viewfinder of the RX10 allows me to follow the football better than even the 5" and 7" external monitors I used to use with my video cameras. I know this sounds like a commercial for the Sony RX10, and I guess it probably is, but without this grip I would not use this camera for filming games that start and stop every few seconds. It would not be practical and would require additional post-production work, and I do not charge my son's school to film their games. Plus, I will be 75 this year and climbing up to press boxes with a lot of equipment is no longer something I desire to do. The only problem now is when I tell the ticket seller that I film the games for the school, they wonder why I don't have a lot of equipment with me to do the job.
